Best selling author/ motojournalist/Road racer, Lee Parks, is offering a FREE seminar, based on his Total Control – Advanced Riding Clinic which is taught here in Troy at www.hvcc.edu/rider and now Advanced Riding Clinic.
It will cover advanced cornering techniques that are designed to help riders at many levels. Whether you started riding la year or 2 ago or a lifetime ago, this seminar will give you a fresh look at cornering and traction management. It will show you how to have “Total Control” of your motorcycle. Even if you have been to the track multiple times or would never go near a track, this seminar will improve your understanding of how what you do affects your motorcycles ability to maintain traction. This seminar is all types of riders. Whether you ride a dualsport, supersport bike, sport tourer, cruiser, touring bike, or even a scooter, this seminar is for you. It will introduce you to ways to enhance your riding and bring it to new levels.
If you’ve ever ended up on the wrong side of the double yellow, tensed up in the rain, gotten passed by a “slower” bike on the track, or just wanted to have way more confidence on the street, these techniques will help. The formula for riding that Lee has developed over years of research and development applies to all types of riders on all types of bikes. You can use them to have a much bigger safety margin on the street or to gain more confidence and speed at the track. The techniques give you more understanding of what you and your bike are capable of together. What you do with this new found ability is up to you.
So, grab your riding buddies, jump on your bike or into your car and come down to Max's BMW on Hoosick St in Troy, NY on Saturday June 21st at 10:30am and let Lee help you take your riding to the next level. If you already have his book, bring it with you and he will be happy to sign it for you. NO Registration needed.
See you there!!

Seminar? wouldn't listening to a lecture give you about the same info/learning as reading his book?
Does anyone else think a 2.5 hour drive for a seminar is pushin it, or am I crazy
i'm probably in for this
Shiiiit!!! I'm doing a Lia Sophia home party at someone's house that afternoon.I so wish I could have made this...argh...

You'd think so, but it'd only be "great" if you took Route 2 or something, which turns into a 3.5-4 hour ride. Maybe that's a good 3 hours though, I haven't done it. I go to school in Great Barrington, MA, so I've made the drive on the pike to exit 2 a dozen times - not the best time on a bike, but that's just me.
If there are people making the ride (on rte 2 or not) from central mass, let me know, maybe I'll join - I'm 10 minutes from Worcester/Westborough

Keep in mind that Lee wrote that book ~6 years ago and has since taught hundreds of classes and given hundreds of seminars so he has refined the explanations of the techniques and their relation to riding even better than in the book. There is nothing quite like hearing it in person from the source!

I think I've ridden to MAX's in Troy more times than I have to Hampton.
I think the value might be in discussing the topics and maybe better understanding what is presented in the book. I agree it isn't quantum physics, but there are a few topics that usually generate some debate (e.g. weighting inside/outside pegs).

This seminar was awesome!! I am definitely adding the actual clinic to my schedule for this year, it's amazing how much I learned today, and it's obvious there's more to be learned with the personalized instruction of the clinic. I even got to be Lee's "body position dummy."
I've got to make a confession... Before the seminar, I honestly thought "What can a riding class teach me? I've done XX trackdays, ridden 30K miles, etc etc." After seeing the ideas presented in the clinic, I am sure I could learn a ton by doing this class. I don't think I'm the only person who was there today who walked in with that attitude, and walked out totally convinced otherwise.
Steve from Max's is going to email me some pictures they took, and when I get them I'll post them up here.
John, thanks for setting this up, I'll be talking to you on the 16th about getting in for one of your other ARC dates.

I think Tony was trying to get Lee to one of his TD's. If you go to the schedule,
there are only a limited number here in the NE left this year.
I'm signed up for Lee's course in two weeks.

John will be teaching an ARC on July 15th, actually, and I think there are still spots left open for it.

At NHMS, coinciding with the first of the July TTDs. Since you're taking the class on the 12/13th, you should come show off your newfound skills at the trackday later that week!
Just checked and the 7/15 ARC is already sold out. Looks like reg for the next one starts on July 18th, I guess the early bird gets the worm on these.

John,
I received a confirmation from the HVCC, but they had mentioned that I'd
receive info (via e-mail) from Lee. I haven't received anything from Lee.
But, perhaps I'm jumping the gun and they just haven't gone out yet?
Also, going up Friday night, need lodging for Friday/Saturday, any suggestions for the area? (i.e., where NOT to stay?)
