Fund raiser Event for injured rider Oct 5, 2008

A fellow rider was in an accident. His name is George Peter Fontaine. He is a Marine who served during the 9/11 attacks. A couple weeks ago he got into a motorcycle accident which left him with a broken wrist and an ankle that has metal screws and plates in it. He was also left out of work with no benefits.
There is a benefit being put on for him to help with his bills. It is at the Kazbar on Rte.20 in Worcester on Sunday October 5th. The event goes from 2pm-6pm. There will be open donations as well as raffles for Celtics tickets and more.

This is in the works to make this a bike/Fund raiser event for a fellow rider that recently went down.

We are trying to put together a best in show bike contest, best custom sport bike, Also a best cruiser, possibly a bike wash. More details to come.. Prizes are still being decided for contests.

Looking for any donations from bike related businesses towards the event Services/products or discount certificates. Any all all efforts are greatly appreciated.

Just in case anyone asks.. I do not know exact details of the crash, but what I was told. First of all he is a good sain rider. He was cut off by a car making a left turn across two lanes of traffic. George was in left lane a bit behind another car in right lane going in the same direction. Car in right lane signaled for car ahead to go across lane to take left. George did not see or know what was going on until the car was directly in front of him. Too late to do anything...

I'm with Doc... I would love to attend, but I just can't. I have been dying to get off this Island and meet some NESRs, and especially when there such a good cause behind it, but work has been too busy...

Update on this George he was just fired from his job because he has been out. I mentioned that he should get a lawyer involved, thats B/S. It's a long story but come to find out his documentation for his benifits were screwed up through his company and he got royally screwed finding out because of the "F" up he does not have Health/dental Short term or Long Term disability. So he just got completely F#*ked.

Please help out if you can, he would love to have a big bike turn out. I can lead who ever shows up on a ride after, possibly a quick run before the show also.

Update:

10 AM Breakfast at the Post Office Pub on rt 122 in Grafton MA. ( Buffet style which is awesme!!! ) Then off to hit NE CT & NW RI for twisties, then head back roads to route 20 Worcester to go to this event.

After more backroads, destination unknown or TBD....
