Doh, I misread that completely. I read it as "This is NOT a ride comprised solely of NESR riders." My mistake.

Now your way off.. I should have left bread crumbs.. I already threw out the possibility of a second meet spot ! Depends of the # of people joining from NH/VT or wherever else could benifit from a second more convienent meet...

And as far as being for NESR members only = Correct, but this is not an Event Sponcered by NESR. Get it? Just so this in no way be turned into the responsibility of NESR if anything should happen during such ride.. This way nobody can Sue NESR for putting on such an event.... There is no relation to said event & NESR, but rather a means of advertising...

But I do not want this advertised anywhere else either....

Let me just add that if anyone decides to bring a buddy with them that they tell them the ins and the outs of group riding and general group manners. ie. no wheelies, stunts that sort of thing. Ride staggered not next to eachother, don't ride over your head etc.......


Oh and another big one is when you show up at the meet spot remember that the ride leaves on schedule. and show up with a FULL TANK OF GAS. and even if you don't need the gas at the gas stops, top it off any way so that everyone is on the same fuel schedule, because not every group stop will be at a gas station.


I am a maybe at this point for the ride.

But I totally agree with you about self actions/responsibility. Some of the lawsuits that take place this day and age is ridiculous! Take responsibility for your own actions. This portion of the thread needs to be discussed in the Contriversal section...

Beleive it or not I have been taking at least one day each weekend for RIDING only and hope to make it to your proposed ride.

Hopefully Jay and I will see you Tuesday afternoon/evening.

I am unfortunately in the office 80% of the time although my workers will say that is FORTUNATE in their eyes just call first to make sure I am there.

So long as the date stays on the 24th, I should be able to make this! My mother lives in the Berkshires so I would head out there Friday afternoon when I get out of work and then it is a short hop down to Springfield. Anyone who would like to head out on Friday and stay at my place would be welcome. I'm sure my mother wouldn't mind because she likes it when I visit!

If it gets bumped to Sunday I can't make it. I need to drive my grandmother to the airport.

im in southern vermont and would be interested in going on this ride.......if there is enough people from this area (im right on vt,mass,ny line) i could maybe arrange a meeting spot here.

if you guys decide to have second meeting spot?

im also pretty up on good vt bike routes if you need any help with vt route planning.

Set up a spot in Wilmington or something for all the VT'ers to meet up at. Heck, I'd meet in Wilmington, maybe. I'm looking at an apartment in Shutesbury, which puts me about 45 seconds from Rt. 202 next to the Quabbin and maybe 20 from Rt. 2, that would r0xorss my Hanes breifs.

I my self have lead many group rides over the years and from experience I have found that,
If at all possible one meet spot is the best especially if the second one is a ways away. By the time we would get to the second spot it would be late in the morning and hard to judge the time line base don the size of the group, length of stops etc. especially if the plan is to do some milage in western masss before headin ginto VT.

I think that the meet spot in western mass that mike is refering to is just as close by high way to the vermonters as it is to the folks from boston. it would just mean that when the ride gets to the mid point you would be closer to home if you live in VT. besides if you meet in western mass you get to do all the good stuff leading up into VT which is the whole point,,, to ride the good stuff.

Could we take 112 north out of Colrain and over the border into Halifax, VT? Theres a nice little strip there I've always wanted to hit. And who knows, maybe 116 will be in a little nicer shape by then!?
