im still riding, any of you local hudson folks want to ride just pm me....no need for a long ride, plenty of good roads local....
For me, Fall is Dirt Bike time. I enjoy street riding, but when the temperatures drop down into the 50's (or lower), street riding gets a bit cool. On my dirt bike, I still work up a sweat in minutes, and do not even think about getting cold, unless I stop.
In fact, I may head out for a short trail ride right now....
Thats one thing I never liked...Use to ride my buddies dirt bikes quads etc...Guess I dont like the sticks in the legs, the bugs in the mouth, the rocks thrown into the chest, the mud puddles. Guess I dont like to get dirty LOL
I use to ride dirtbikes until my best friend got killed in front of me on one. That's when i decided my kids and my wife need me more than i need the dirtbike. As far as riding on the street goes, it's not too cold if you layer properly. Last year i rode until the temp hit the low teens. I go out pretty much every night so if anybody wants in i'm ready.
[QUOTE=Mr. Gixxer;983225]Sorry, should've provided more info. My name's Evan and i live in Rockland, Ma. I've been "lurking" the forums for a while and figured i should register. I ride an 07 gixxer 1000 but i'm not into stunting or anything like that, either highway runs, some nice twisties or just cruising, i'm 23 and have 2 kids and a wife so i'm not trying to get myself killed doing something ridiculous like i use to.[/QUOTE
I have the same bike but live in Natick. Was out riding late afternoon yestureday....was not bad with full leathers on. Going out again today but it will not be long before you will need an air chisel to pry me away from the wood stove!!!!

200 miles today with a few other guys from this forum.... ya', it was cold....
I'll keep going until it's below 40 during the day. Going out tomorrow and hopefully again on Sunday.
i hope to get out this weekend around the Bolton/ Hudson/ Harvard area if anyones going to be around.
I'm still commuting.... I'd go for longer rides if I had time!
I do, and I'll probably have my rig out all year as last year, put some carpet under the tyres for those really bad months where it may sit for 2-3 weeks at at time. But I live next door to the car wash and since I helped make the city clean up the whole area after an embarrassing video they let me wash it off for free. So keep in touch even though I'm busy this week.![]()
Going to try to get out for a few hours tomorrow. Maybe a head out at 11.30 or so to MM and then back. Anyone else going out tomorrow?

Windy as hell, but temps look to be 40's for awhile yet, guess it's suppose to get crappy and drop and get wet later.
I'm gonna get out on a couple of the girls today. Anyone want to risk getting shot at and go for a dual sport buzz around? Planning on terrorizing the high school parking lot on the Pitster Pro too! I just got a deal on a new modular helmet and think that will get me out on the Connie for a high speed, wind tunnel test!
I'll check back before I take off. I'm in Brattleboro, VT and think south would be best. Love the NH/MA border for dual sport roads. I want to get out before my lard ass freezes!

^^^great machine. Do you have the heated gear hookups on that bike too?
I thought it was going to rain yesterday so I didn't ride. Got out today for a bit, to MM and back. Pretty windy, but not too cold. New seat feels great!
Ive rode every day this week....
I ride to work everyday unless there is snow on the ground or ice. I also go for a joy ride almost every weekend for a couple of hours, sometimes just to MM and back. Proper gear is essential. Just picked up an old heated liner ad am anxious to try it out.

Went to a YB breakfast last Sunday in Mendon. Almost everyone there had nametags: I never knew the name "Gerbing" was so common....![]()
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. Eisenhower 1961
Out for a ride yesterday on the Bitsa to road test my tach drive repair and enjoy the sun. No heated gear on the vintage machines.
