    Mid-Ohio 8/1-8/3

I'm looking to go to Mid-Ohio with my girl in August for the superbike race. Never been to a race before. I'm online looking at tickets and do I want to purchase general admission or do I want grandstand seats, and what is the difference. I want nice seats to watch the races for the weekend. Thanks in advance.

check out where the grandstands are first. if they are in a place where you would like to watch the race from then get them. lots of places have multiple vantage points to watch from that arent necessarily grandstands (grass, hills, etc). BUT. most of the time the grandstand seats will also have some sort of jumbotron so you can see a live feed from the rest of the track (kinda like watching it on TV). i usually get the grandstand seats since they are usually like $10-20.

Get pit passes. The infield is where all the good stuff is. If you can swing it, go for the whole week, the AHRMA races are fun to watch and the swap meet creatures are even funnier. AHRMA is living proof of The Evolution Theory.

Being able to roam around the pits is a cool thing about going to an AMA race. I've never been to a World Superbike race but I know that with MotoGP that getting a "pit pass" does not mean that you get to see things close up. You're lucky if you even get a sighting of a racebike before they pull the doors closed. Secretive little buggers....

The garages at Mid-Ohio have balconies so you can look down in the garage and see the mechanics work. You can also see the front straight from them. The best racing is in the Keyhole turn and Echo Valley.
