If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
My techno-nut / apple fanboi cousin was at the wedding last weekend with his iphone running the 'beta' of the new ios. They've even removed google maps. Seems the google/apple divorce is nearly complete; no more google maps and ios safari boogering up picasa links. So sad. Think of the children.

You must mean Accord. AFAIK, Civics have never had 6-cylinder engines.
Ouch!
jasnmar... looks like your engine guards (or crash guards!) kept it somewhat upright. Any damage?

It's a pretty standard goldwing trick. This was one of the "more gentle" impacts my engine guards have had with the asphalt .
Since I have a hitch installed, and no lift or MC jack, (the hitch prevents the rear wheel from coming out the back) I actually use this trick to change the rear wheel as well, other side, but same trick.
Tipped it over on its side first night I had it, on purpose, just to make sure I could lift it back up.
Looks like you had a police escort. Very professionally done!

Bump. Spotted Rob riding through Keene today.
2023 KTM 890 Adventure R
When are you planning a second ride?? Pls do it on Sunday.
Ah! Carp....It will be a sunday due to popular demand. Basically here's what my life boils down to right now - I'll be at the track this weekend for LRRS and next for USCRA. After that, Rob's entire family has birthdays. My guess is I'll wedge it in somewhere in early October, but please don't hold me to that. I'll know more after my track day is over and I can think of things other than packing and bike prep for more than 30 seconds.

Goldwing on the track? I so want to see pics.
Wish there was something like this in VT. I feel like the guy other riders keep around in case we get startled by a pouncing cheetah.
I hate sharing these, cause my body position sucks sooooo bad (it felt different, I promise).
Anywho... https://picasaweb.google.com/1128325.../TonySTrackDay. That should work on most machines (please let me know if it doesn't). IOS people, who knows?
OK. Please try this one. https://picasaweb.google.com/1128325...eat=directlink. If this doesn't work I'll just copy them somewhere else...
I appreciate the comment. It's actually a surprisingly capable machine. It looks a lot like a Harley Ultra something (sorry, I don't understand the Harley line), but isn't a cruiser at all. The stock suspension (which I have) has its limitations, but I'm still thinking of options (traxxion has a very well reviewed option, but it's not cheap, race tech and progressive also have viable options, but aren't as good at explaining exactly what's going on so I've not committed to anything yet).
On the plus side, my wife is no longer whapping me on the head when I scrape pegs through a corner, and she's figured out that when I "sit on her leg" things are about to get fun.
I think even as a stock machine the capabilities of the bike are above the capabilities of the rider at this point... Working on that. A little at a time .
That album is full of ridiculous awesomeness.
The Electra Glide and Tour Glide (FL*) are the big framed Harleys. My father had an '89 FLHS Electra Glide 'Sport' until last year. His comment was always that the Harley frame was relatively weak and flexed when you pushed it hard. He called it the "flexible flyer".
Honda does not have that problem with the wing. They use a frame designed sometime after the 1960's.
