I picked up a 3x5' shooting mat about 2 weeks ago. I use it for stick handling drills just about every day. I've found that even playing 2-3 times a week, while its good for the lungs, doesn't really help my hands an awful lot. When I first got back into hockey I'd do a skills night every week and it was great. The mat does a great job giving you the stick and puck time you just won't see in a game setting.

On game nights I'll spend a solid 30 minutes working drills, it does wonders for the hands.

I'd absolutely love to... If I could afford it I would. Race season is fast approaching.

Cool, cool. Just did a super quick google search & found a youtube video of some kid who just used a sheet of acrylic and sprayed it with pledge furniture polish.

There's a league at the indoor tennis club in my town. Nothing serious but it's a lot of fun.

Anyone wanna play tonight at 9:10 in Andover? I just signed up. There were plenty of slots open a couple weeks ago... guessing you'll get a ton of ice & puck time.

Awesome game last night... Pretty decent group of skaters despite being D league. Had a ton of fun.

Even came with some entertainment from some fuckin toolbag on my team got his panties all in a bunch when a 150lb guy that was about a foot shorter than him bumped him from behind... Toolbag said he checked him and slashed him... So he got all in his face, yellin shit at him, threw a "punch" into his chest, "I got 50 pounds on you! I'll fuckin kill you!" The whole deal. 4 min double minor. Good. Get the guy off the ice.

Of course he caught the whole ridiculous incident on the gopro camera strapped to his head. Including there part where I was chirpin at him while he was sitting in the penalty box right next to me.

"Dude, if you've got 50lbs on the guy then you shouldn't give a shit if he bumps into you... Calm down, it's fuckin D league."
"I know that! Tell him that!"
"He's not the one making fucking death threats! Relax. We're here to have some fuckin fun."
"Waaaah, he slashed me! That shit hurts!"

    lulz.

Later in the game the same little guy bumped him pretty good... PURELY incidental (Happened right in front of me) and the toolbag turned around and slashed the living fuck outta the guys leg. Luckily right on the pads. I can't believe the ref didn't give him the lifetime boot. Apparently it's not his first time pulling this shit.

Immediately after that was a faceoff which I took... Before lining up at the dot I looked around the rink & asked everyone if they were there to have some fuckin fun & play some hockey... that broke the tension.

Hopefully he's there next week and I can throw a real check into him n get him booted.

This is a Stinkysocks game? Sad to hear, they've all been chill. NESHL was so bad that some guys registered under assumed names so when they got suspended they could still play. Crazy.

Stinkysocks starts an adult skills clinic next week on Thursday nights in Andover. A/B level and C/D level. It's run by former Bruin Rick Middleton.

It was just one douche... Everyone else was all chill and "wtf?". Not worried about him. He'll get the boot sooner or later.

Heard about the clinic. Would absolutely love to attend, but I can't afford it. As it is I'm cutting back on games.

It isn't listed on their site yet, but in a few weeks they'll be doing a 12 week skills clinic at Quincy Youth. I'll likely sign up even if I may not be here for the last of it.
Im a much better skater when I do 1 night of games and 1 night of skills, rather than just multiple games. Great workout too.
