    Roebling Road Race Way

Yup , I'm going there in August !
I have a couple Questions for You Track Junkies !
A couple here know My track bike of My choice for a couple years was the BMWk12rs . Last year I got a VFR to give to K a break . I've done one T-D on IT and will be signed up for Tony's April Dates ( so far ) to get more time on it .

Pilot Powers are on it now , I feel ok with them with one T-D on the bike .

R-R is a High Speed , mostly long sweeping turn track from the video's I've seen .

    The VFR is stock .

I also know full well the VFR is Well .... a VFR and not a CBR

1-) Should I stay with the PP's or go with a race compound tire ?

2-) Being a big boned ( Ok 220lbs fat guy ) should the first thing I do is get the suspension set for my weight .

After talking with a couple people , getting to know a NEW track is small battle and some there will know where I've done all of my track time .

Any pointers or comments would be greatly Appreciated !

    TIA, Stevie B

    (1) Let me take this one guys ....as i've been recently "schooled"....go with the Pilot Powers unless you are running at least mid-pack speeds in the blue group of a TTD.

    (2) Setting suspension for your weight is always a good thing regardless of bone structure.

And from what I've heard, if you can learn NHIS, you can learn any track. Have fun at RR!

you should sell the VFR and buy a CBR
like a 93 CBR...with lots of cool go fast stuff...like the one i have

my G/F rides a SV at TDs and i put PP race tires (soft) on hers and they work great. they felt better than the PPs (2CT) i had on my SV1K. VFR can be kinda hefty.. so maybe a medium compound but i would still say PP race...especially if track duty is its only purpose.

if you were in the market for new tires I'd say try out some new things... but there's nothing wrong w/ the pilot powers you've currently got on there. Use em up till they're done (I'm sure they've got PLENTY of life left in them), then maybe get something different.
