So We made into Newfoundland after a couple of hours on the ferry.
Again struck by deja-vu and the feeling I had been here before, as the similarities between this land and the west cost of Ireland is eerie, also helps they share the same latitude.
We found a cool little B and B run by a landlady who made us take off our boots before entering and then proceeded to makes us coffee and cookies.
    Most excellent indeed.
This was one of the nicer spots we stayed in and reasonable too.
Shortest day so far of 150 odd miles but was nice to just take our time.
Next day was more meandering slowly down the coast
The Ferries were almost all booked out but we were lucky enough to catch a 1am ferry from Port au Basque to North Sydney Nova Scotia.

    Re: 'nother trans lab trip

We arrived in Nova Scotia early the next morning and hit rain for the first time all trip, bollox to that so we plowed on thru and left Nova Scotia behind for the sunnier climes of New Brunswick
Arrived outside fredericton for the night and found a brand new Days Inn with jacuzzi , nice.
    400 miles for the day.
Friday morning got up and headed for the border, took all back roads and had glorious sunshine all the way down.
Back into Maine and decided to head for Augusta for the night, screwed around on the back roads until traffic started to build up and blasted into Bangor.
Headed towards Augusta and turns out there's a lobster festival on and everywhere is booked out so off to next town and same result.
Ahhh to hell with it and I pointed the bike towards the cape and rolled into my house at 2.30 am saturday after 832 miles and totally beat.
So total mileage for the trip was 3487miles and according to the gps we averaged 54.7 mph
    Epic trip with me mates.
If your thinking about a trip like this ,stop thinking and just go you wont regret it.
Couple of words about the bikes.
The big bmw's performed flawlessly and the more mileage I put on mine the more I like it.
The Tiger performed excellently too and these bikes will truly go whereever ya point them with no fuss.
We did some big mile days and had no problems whatsoever.
I'm a huge fan of the Tiger as I own one with some serious miles on it and I enjoy it as much as the bmw, only reason I took the beemer was it had newer tires.
I had new tourances on the GS and they performed well but are almost wiped out from the trip.
The Tiger had new shinkos on it and were a better tire in the gravel and dirt but again the road took a toll on the tires.
A great trip and can't wait for the next one
Thats all folks thanks for the comments

Nice write up! And, it certainly looks a lot better in the sunshine...and without having to plug a flat a dozen times before you figure out how to tie a knot in the plug!

How many days were you out all together? Did you get a berth on the ferry to Nova Scotia?

If there weren't dozens of other rides on the list I would go back...but, Alaska beckons. (Along with Italy, Switzerland, France, Argentina, South Africa...!)

Hey Dave, we were gone a total of 8 days and we didn't get a berth on the ferry but had those dopey lounge chairs but I crashed on the floor anyway.
I'm planning on Alaska next year , was there in 07 and was contemplating south america but time and funds won't work so Alaska it is
