This rivalry thing is pretty ridiculous and juvinile. The action of labeling everyone on a specific site as childish and immature, is just as childish and immature as the site is.

I for one, agree with many things said here, but I still have people on both sides of the fence I'd love to pick some lines with, and spend a day riding them.

If it was an all ODFU ride only, it would have been posted on ODFU only...it's been posted on other message boards also...we're joining in to help out someone who is trying to organize this ride with good intentions, and that we actually happen to enjoy riding with...doesn't matter on which message board he's on. If any other rider pulls some stupid shit on the roads during the ride, we'll just pull away from it. Doesn't mean it's gonna be someone from ODFU doing it either.

I don't kiss anyone's asses. I'm just done with the whole ODFU vs NESR vs "whatever site" animosity thing.

So back to my question....what does a poker run consist of?

as i understand it, there will be many small groups of riders, since one large group is practicly un-doable.. going from place to place (predetermined stops along the way) picking up playing cards.

when everyone gets to the end, they all compare hands and the best poker hand wins half the collected money. other half goes to children and families of fallen officers (i think).

Ok, so is it each player picking up a card at each stop and building a poker "hand", or is it one card for the small group and then if they win, they split the money?

Not that it matter that much, we're joining for the ride and the fun and I never win anyway!

each rider picks up a card at each stop i think. I haven't DONE a poker run, but i believe this is how it is done.

Shit yeah, B. I've been trying to organize the big NESR/ODFU throwdown for, fuck, going on three years now. It keeps getting postponed due to rain though. You can't rumble in wet clothes, somebody might catch a cold.

This ride is tomorrow (Sunday). Man God and I are attending, and people from various forums (some not on any forums). The group is going to the summit of Mount Greylock, and the few people I know going on that ride are good riders.

Heee....today's ride was awsome. Nice people to ride with, nice BBQ, etc. The pace was fast but no arrests.

But after 3 years of riding and not one crash, it had to happen today. We went on top of Mount Greylock, and as we came back down, the indications on the map were sending us on a dirt road, covered with small rocks, and HUGE pot holes (I'm talking some holes deeper than a foot and 3-4 feet wide). As I came to take this 90 degrees turn going up hill, I had to slow down because of all the rocks and dirt on the ground, couldn't make the turn so I put my foot down....only to find "nothing" to put my foot down on...but a deep pot hole. There was nothing I could have done, the bike straight out fell on it's side, with my leg stucked under. One of the guys was very quick at jumping off his bike and came to lift up my bike. I don't know how he did it...the bike was leaned down on me but also "down the hole" (not sure how to explain this). My brake lever is broken, and the turn signal was messed up. The rest of the ride I felt this burning sensation on my leg so when I took my pants off at the BBQ I saw what it was, got a small bloody spot just under my knee, but the bone going from my knee down to my ankle hurt. It really hurts when I walk on my leg. I'm pissed off about laying the bike down tho. It really sucks.

Maybe you shouldnt ride on logging roads with sport bikes? On a pre-planned poker run no less.
