    Planned Rides

I haven't been looking at NESR for a few years but the feeling I get from clawing around NESR, the enthusiasm for organized rides has plummeted. Kinda crazy when I think back when I was organizing rides here, there was an enthusiastic following to participate. I'm kinda curious if there is any interest for a planned ride through NH or VT (~150-450 miles) for a day ride.

The pace would be energetic but not over the top, so it that wouldn't discourage noobs to participate. Would like to keep participation to 20 bikes or less so we can achieve our goals to both have a good time and experience the thrill a motorcycling experience.

Lemme know if interested. Still early in the season so lots of time to plan.

    Re: Planned Rides

Until last year DucDave was running some rides out of Seacoast Sport Cycle that were reasonably well attended (generally).

Dave looked for volunteers to take over last year and there wasn't much interest (I take it).

You might check with them and see if they are still interested in being a sponsor / launch point.

I think the thing with the Seacoast rides, the ride leader should be someone who has an Italian bike and hopefully bought and or serviced by Seacoast. My British bikes don't really qualify. I might be wrong so...

I still have the Ducati but I wouldn't want the ride to be biased by being bike brand specific. We useta have some great rides when we launched from Moto Market. Great group of guys.

The meet-ups at Seacoast certainly weren't Italian only. I think Ken's point is that they were Italian "led", but they were in no way exclusive.

    Re: Planned Rides

I showed up at the DucDave rides all the time and have never owned anything Italian or even euro. I was never turned away. They even graciously bought me lunch once or twice!

I did see a guy on a Harley with no helmet turned away. I don't think he would have enjoyed the ride. I do remember a couple more squidly types that I had wished were turned away. But in the end they got bored and vanished by mid ride anyway.

    Re: Planned Rides

I used to lead many rides from MotoMarket. Pace would depend on who showed up, but mostly it was a large group of the same sportbike riders, so some rides were advanced pace. I just bought a new Alpinestars race suit (damn, does leather shrink...the old Vanson is tight) and an Alpinestars AirTech Race airbag vest, so I'll be leading a bunch of rides this year. I've posted them on Boston Sportbike Riders: https://www.meetup.com/BostonSportbikeRiders/ Most of the rides already have 25+ riders coming, so may have to post more to reduce the number of riders. Although lots of members here have been riding for many years (frickin' old timers we are), there is a new crop of riders too, although most stats say sportbike riding is down from its heyday years ago.

Ya.......I've heard stories about the rides you lead. Probably the reason why I never did any of them.

May not make them all because I'm in a Brit bike club that has group rides, too, but I'm certainly interested.

    Steve,

You ever do any of the Camp Meade trips in VT with a local Triumph group?

No, I haven't, Wayne. I'll have to look into that. If it is an antique bike group, my current Triumphs are both Hinkleys. I'll probably pick up an old project bike to keep me busy when i retire in a year or two. Thanks for the lead.

They don't do it anymore. Camp Meade closed. That group was organized on Yahoo
