Or you could get tripple A?Originally posted by Bhavesh
Maybe we should start a thread of people with trucks that are willing to leave their # with people going on these monstrous group rides, in case anything happens?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
The only thing I can add to that, is it happens real fast .Originally posted by theothersean
I remember it like it were yesterday..........................
Crashing sucks! I learned my lesson the hard way, as most do, "Ride your own ride".
I'm a lucky one also .. Gear saved me from a trip to the hospital ..

Is there a version of AAA that works for motorcycles? Cause I know I was stranded once and AAA pretty much told me to go F myself.Originally posted by hessogood

AAA doesn't cover bikes. Have to get a membership to AMA for that.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
That AMA MoTow thing is pretty cool and $25 a year is nothing. The only problem I can see is the 35 mile towing distance. What happens if someone like myself, who lives in MA goes on a ride up in VT. I guess you really still need to have some family/friends on standby with a truck.
If you get stuck in VT, call highsider.
Eight zero two, four eight two, six eight nine six.
If I dont have time to drive you all of the way home, I can at least house your bike until you can figure something else out.
very cool of you highsideri think we sould start a thread with names and numbers of people with trucks, or just a willingness to help. i got no pickumup truck , but i got tools and like to help (i even help random people with flats and stuff that i see stuck) if anyone agrees lets make a thread

I'm in Topsfield, up near Danvers, Peabody etc... I dont have a truck, but i got a car, a tow hitch & a trailer. It's not a horrible place to get stranded in cuz there's so many shops and other members in the area, but if anyone ever needs a hand, I'm usually available weekday mornings & weekends.

once a thread pops up about it, i'll copy/paste my post over there.
Of course, if you're stranded, chances are you aren't in a position to check NESR to find the member nearest you![]()

Yes, but, there are alot of us who have the contact info of several people on NESR, and you dont necessarily need to get in touch with someone from the board directly. A call home, or to a friend, someone that can get on a PC, should be able to direct you to the info you are in need of. I know if 25 people put up their contact info, I'm sure as hell not putting them all in my cell phone or trying to organize them by region or the likes.Originally posted by OreoGitorio

"That guy on the harley is going to crash...er...because he doesn't have the R model.") It's funny because (a lot of the time) it is true. lol. Also, I was impressed when some guy (I forget all the names too) pointed to my bike and could list all the differences between the R model and the standard model. You guys know your bikes.

I'm in central MA, and I plan to get a ranger or s10 (but hopefully a tacoma) in a few weeks to haul my own bike around.
But if I get the truck, and I'm not at work, I would def. help out a stranded rider.
I was thinking about starting a thread, but it might not be the best idea to leave phone numbers public, and try to have it all organized.
On the other hand, every subsequent person that posts can just add to a list. hmm...thread or no thread![]()
If such a list should occur, it wouldn't be that hard to print it in size 8 font and tuck it in your wallet or somewhere.
I've got access to a truck and live in the South Shore area. Chances are that not too many people will be talking a trip down to my area but if anyone needs help, my cell is 7 eight 1 eight 6 four 2 three 4 nine.
such a list would be easy enough to carry in a tank bag or under a seat, considering you would be on your bike at the time you needed help.

Friends have my Number and If they do not know they can call anytime for help then they are crazy.
I have a truck, a trailer, ramps & lots of tie downs.
If I am in town you need help in the greater central/Boston Region and some of southern NH even if I really like you.
I had to make just such a call the first weekend I owned my RC. I got a flat on a construction road late at night and "Theothersean" came and towed it and me home! Thanks again buddy!!
I will not send out my # on the public forum, but if you ride in this area a lot hit me up..

I've got a truck and I keep tie downs and my canyon dancers in it at all times.
I've got 2 foldings ramps that I can grab if needed and I'll gladly help out someone who needs it.
But I'm not about to post my cell phone on a public board.

He's recovering well. I haven't actually seen him in person since the accident. But, I believe most of the stitches were removed a few weeks ago and he's healing well...
