I just got home about 15 minutes ago. about 440 miles logged on the GPS. Sucks about Dylan crashing his Mosnter on 17... I'll give him a call tonight to make sure he made it home alright.
Word.............just walked inthe door and I am fuckin freezing. To think I wasted 200 and change on a grebings and didn't wear it today.
Anyways I dunno how man miles but fuck 17 was cold and the tires slippery. I didn't even want to run the other side after I almost checked out coming up the hill.
Nice ride good seeing everyone and shit.

Excellent ride today...
Bummer about Dylan, but I was glad to see that he was able to get up and ride home.
Eugene, thanks for leading our group. The pace was perfect for me.

KB, what time did your group make it to 17?
Anyone got pics? I haven't been on a huge NESR ride in quite sometime. I would have been there today if:
(1) My bike(s) hadn't been stolen;
(2) I hadn't been riding someone else bike all summer;
(3) I hadn't killed the rear tire on said bike;
(4) I didn't want to kill it anymore cause I am trying to get out having to buy a replacement;
but yeah, this thread is more or less now useless w/o pics!. Post em up!

If I get another fuckin' bike stolen...
Great ride! It wasn't my last ride of the season but I doubt I'll be topping the 445 miles I put on the gixxer today before next year.
Thanks to Degsy for settin' this ride up, Eugene for leading our group up and Mike for leading us home on a that back country, through the mountains, twistie road called *cough* I91 *cough*.
Oh lastly, thanks to the LEOs for letting us play the way we like without interuption.
Was looking forward to this, instead had to work, blah...
Sounds like everyone had a good time, sorry to hear of the down'd rider...

Yea, it was pretty fucking cold. As I got closer to Boston it got warmer, though - like we went into a different temperature zone or something as we crossed into MA.Originally posted by rmbbikes

+1. I had my front end almost slide out from under me. Other than that and the unfortunate get-off, it was a great day of riding. Glad to hear that the other groups made it to 17. We thought you guys turned around. We waited for a while but decided to head home. Thanks to Degsy for setting up a great ride and Eugene for leading our group at a good clip. Nice to see a bunch of familiar faces and some new ones. Hope to see you guys at least 1 more time before my bike goes into hibernation.Originally posted by rmbbikes

was a great day. finally got to ride 17. i want to motard that road!
thanks degsy and eugene for setting it up. i can't wait for the next one![]()
That was an awesome ride with a bunch of awesome folks, glad that everyone made it home ok, and really glad that Dylan was able to walk away, with little damage to the monster.
That was my first time up to Rt 17, crazy road. I went as hard as I felt safe and wave some riders by me when I could.
Eugene thanks for the lead it was a great pace for the eight of us!

+2... Couldn't get enough heat into the tires and ended up flat tracking it (Clayton KLR style) around a couple of corners on Rt. 17. Luckily my front tire stayed planted. Even on one of the straight uphill sections, I layed on the power and spun up the rear. Still a hell of a lot of fun!Originally posted by vaa

I wish I was better with names but I was most impressed with the guy on the 883 Sportster hanging with us until the very end. The aftermarket rear-set manufacturers are going to love you.
As always it was good to see a lot of familiar faces and a bunch of new ones. It's too bad Dylan had a get-off but hopefully he is feeling alright.

I got some unfortunate news about Dylan. Apparently he went down again on his way home. His visor flew off on the way back because the helmet was banged up from the first accident. So he had put on his sun glasses to block the wind. So I guess he couldn't see too well after it got dark. He hit a guardrail on an off-ramp somewhere on I195 in RI. Merrie (his GF) told me that she got a call that night from some random guy who saw the accident and found her emergency contact info in his wallet (so I guess he was unconscious from the impact). He was in the hospital yesterday but was checked out around 4:00 am. He has a broken nose and something like 100 stitches on his face, everything else seems OK, though. A plastic surgeon saw him and said that everything should heal without any permanent damage/scarring. But, it's probably gonna be about 6 months until everything is healed 100%.

Holy CRAP!!! That is like a punch in the stomach!
Jesus hope he has a speedy and FULL recovery!

wow...when kirk came home and told me about the first accident i was happy to hear that he was ok and was able to get back on the bike.
and i'm just i awe right now after reading about his second accident. Some one is definatly looking out for him. He is a very lucky man.
I wish him a speedy recovery!!!
HOLYSHIT..... may the god of his choice be with him and wish him a speedy recovery
oh man that sucks!i had a feeling that once the sun went down he was going to have big trouble. a few of us were talking on our last gas stop saying we hope he gets a room or calls a friend to get him once it got dark.
i hope for a speedy recovery.. to cheer him up maybe tell him the bike he wants to buy is in the nesr classifieds. that might put a smile on his face.
Oh no. That is the worst news I've heard all day... 100 stitches in his face? That poor kid. Anyone else up for taking a donation for him? I'd like to at least see us round up enough money to get him a new helmet. At least. I'll start with $15.
Oh man, That's terrible... Going down once sucks, twice in a day, well that Ultra sucks...
Eugene, please tell Dylan that I hope he gets well Soon and am wishing all the best for him!!!
You know Mike, after we talked about it in Brattleboro, I got to thinking about it on the ride home. I should have offered to let him crash at my place and have his GF meet him here... Now, I wished I had at least offered...a few of us were talking on our last gas stop saying we hope he gets a room or calls a friend to get him once it got dark.
i hear you. i thought the same thing after the fact. i have a feeling he was alittle upset with himself and just wanted to go home. i doubt we could have talked him into stayingOriginally posted by bmrider
