Nice meeting everyone today! I was bummed that I had to bail from the group in Willmington, VT to head home. Even so, in the 30 miles I did with the group from Keene, NH to Willmington, VT made me realize one thing....I REALLY need to hit the track! You all are fast![]()

Thanks Ray, for throwing this ride together.
Also thanks to Dave for leading the collective.
Had a great ride....great start to the season.
Met a bunch of cool people, and the route was great too.
Thanks too all for a great Safe ride.
I'll be sure to hit more this year for sure.
Great ride to break in the monstah
Did 385mi total.
Nice meeting everyone. Thanks ray for putting the show together.
Ray, well planned, well executed, congrats. Little pressure huh?
So c'mon everyone, chime in with me on this crap of Ray getting tagged with the $90 bill (leftover?) because little miss co-ed can't add 2+2+2! WTF?? No way can I let you get stuck with that bill. Especially since they ran out of everything all through our short time there. If no one helps let me know, I'll paypal you $100 and make it so we pick up your meal too! You organized the whole thing and were very cool about ride talks and suggestions to the group. No easy task, to be sure. Seriously, let me know or how 'bout I just suggest that we toss in and cover the $90 and buy you lunch to boot! 10 of us do $10, 5 do $20, whatever it takes, I'll cover the rest on principle alone.
So great opener, with rides like this I'll come down and meet at the start from now on.
Couple of shots...

I am all for chipping in more $ to cover the bill and Rays lunch too...add me to the list.
Its just wrong for him to have to pay more than anyone else.
I think we should also buy his lunch for this ride too.
In fact I think we should buy the lunch for anyone who organizes the ride from now on.
add my name to the list for chipping in more $.
Thanks again Ray/Dave for a great ride.

Looking good peeps!
Any tips on the logistics of keeping such a large ride together? What about different skill levels? Looking to do a ride up here and want to try and hash some of this out before we go.

A really good set of people to "block" at intersections and communication with the sweep.
As for ability levels, when we got to the tighter twisties, we broke the group into 3 smaller groups. Faster, intermediate, and timid. The groups left a gathering spot 3-4 minutes apart and met at another gathering spot.
It worked out pretty well.
I am not a fan of blocking intersections...
...to many bad things can happen and it can really annoy the cagers. Also, you end up with a couple riders zooming back up the line which is also an opportunity for a mishap.
Having said that, it worked ok. It's an opinion and point of view...not a criticism! I don't do that that on rides I lead but not saying it shouldnt be done....!

Well I would say that integrity and communication is always my winning factors. I emphasize safety and have MULTIPLE briefings and debrief at the end of te ride. Multple sweeps and cooridinating personal info and medic ready inviduals. I ask EVERYONE to be hoest about their abilities and ask them not to exceed their abilities. I say "keep your knee draggin on the track"-not that we dont have our fun...and of course no stunts/showoffs/squids. As for the blocking...it works for me and I like it personally. It's safer to block IMO than to have 60+ bike stopping and going on the side of the road waiting @ redlights. I have my "2nd man" stop then have my sweeps take over half way through so he can work his way up....Again, this works for me and maybe not for others. I try to say I'm pretty organized and I do care about everyone's safety, so I personally believe that what I do is for the best for everyone and cagers..again IMOHope that helps Doc.
ot but post up in here peeps
