This thread got me to go out to the garage and look: Nope, feelers are minty. Arguably the cleanest part of my bike.

You guys are a baaaad influence. I just tallied up my gas receipts from the weekend. Recorded my all time lowest fuel economy from home to Keene in the AM: 48.7 MPG. Before Saturday I had never scored a tank below 50.

Total fuel bill for the weekend was about $20.

I don't find riding at the edge of my ability to be fun in any way and further more if I did I would consider myself a danger to other riders. I thought the pace was perfect given the conditions.

My gasoline total was $30.00- 89octane. I believe the speedo readout was approx 34mpg.

Road conditions were rather sucky. Hog back was better!

Yea. The bracket rubbing is a problem, less from a cosmetic standpoint than the pipes, but a bigger issue. Once hard parts start rubbing it's defiantly time to back off. It become quite easy for hard parts to "lever" wheels off of the ground, leaving you with no outs.

Additionally, nothing you can do to really protect it, as adding any sort of "plating" will also decrease your lean angle by whatever the thickness of your plating is. Only real options are different lines, lower speed, and body position (and I'm not sure how much body positioning you can actually do with such a forward foot position, however).

Most of the wear on my pegs comes from low speed practice, rather than twisties. I'm not nearly as talented as Rick on his wing.

Only real option is get another bike for the more higher spirited rides. Take the M109R up 1A on the seacoast.

I got about 24 mpg with 93 but that's normal for street riding, track get about half that.

You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style
