Thanks Ray Ray for setting this ride up (and lunch too), I had a great time, great lunch, and got to meet a bunch of super people - it was well worth the cold...and it was friggin cold those last 60 miles on 495...

What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
Jason P... Thanks for the pic. That's a timeline FB upgrade right there.

@gumby
Thanks. I do appreciate it. I don't normally ride that spiritedly and honestly have limited group riding experience.
I've tried to convince myself that the wing is a sport bike with a tupperware fettish, but hadn't really ridden with any sport bikes to compare. Now I have a comparison. I'm not sure my argument is valid.
I really appreciate the opportunity to ride with all of you today. It was a very different sort of riding than the 'wing croud is normally involved in. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up, and while there were times that I fell a bit behind there was never any pressure from anyone.
Apologies to all the sweepers that had to clean up my mess :-) and thanks to all.
Great great time especially when I passed the slower rider! LOL! J/K guys! Yeah Big Money,Dave and Cheese and E30 thanks for breaking my almost tip over. Never had that happen but when there was as mush sand on the roads at times... eh.. All is well land Trip is fine and so are my core members of the Collective!
I love riding fast! The LEO that stopped us/Dave was very nice. He rides a bike too... A Harley!! Thats a bike? lol! dont matter we were givin "warning"
9718 miles on Trip! 250ish miles today!
Somehow, when i left the house this morning I couldn't have imagined calling my wife from jail saying "well, you see, they set up this roadblock, which was totally unfair".
Somehow, now, I can :-)
That was on rt. 100 as well. It was a little scary at first, but luckily the road block cops were WAY cooler than the upset cop whom had been chasing us for miles unable to catch up. In the end we all walked away from that one without performance awards as well.
Thanks for setting up the ride and lunch Ray! Yesterday was a cold day and if it wasn't for your ride I would have stayed home instead of getting 300 miles of early season seat time in. Thanks for leading Dave and Sam for sweeping in the morning. Sorry I didn't take over when you asked but I knew my cold body and cold tires might hinder the pace and I didn't want to do that to the group. I was fine riding in the pack in the morning and then sweeping in the afternoon.
Riding in the back offers me an opportunity to watch the other riders in the group. To those that were in the back of the pack and worried they were holding up the group, don't be. Everyone wants you to ride at less than 80% of your ability. I know Dave and the other riders up front share the opinion that we'd much rather wait at an intersection than come back to a situation where someone used up all of their safety margin. The only suggestion I would make is to break out of the staggered formation. Many of you are holding your lane at speed in the twisties. Instead, spread out, follow single file and use outside, inside, outside lines that allow for more efficient cornering.
Though I didn't make the ride, I would have to agree with this. This is why I set up a newbie group ride every year. This is something that feels weird at first, but comes with seat time and group experience. Hoping to get my ride in earlier this year (last year's was July). Cheese, I would love if you could come and help out with it, I will PM you when I start tossing around dates.

Just want to give a BIG thanks too the WMC. The ride to Keene was as always a blast. For those of you that don't know I got a message during lunch that my Dad had passed away. Not really a shock as he was sick for 6-7 yrs (Parkinsons and then liver,kidney and colon cancer) but getting that call is never good. Too each and every WMC rider that was there "Thank You." You guys are a class act and i will be honored to ride with you whenever and wherever. I really hated to bail as this ride gets better as the day goes on.
