I will not be wearing sneakers but may I ask why you (general you) would care?
Thread clearly states gear required I just don't understand why it matters to 3rd parties if idc about my legs or hands? Also what pase is this ride because I know some people (that I have not invited since I'm not responsible or anyone other than myself and passenger that could possibly like to do that ride but they are not fast riders).

Because if you go down and wreck your ankle in your sneakers...then the group has to deal with seeing that, dealing with it, and has to wait longer. Wear your geat and you will hopefully be able to get right back up. And then just the bike has to be worried about.

Good points. I guess I won't be telling anyone about this I don't like being responsible for others on motorcycles. Even if they ride well shit happens and I don't wanna be the guy who brought them along

WMC will be meeting up with you at margaritas, as well.

Anybody interested in riding up from western mass, we'll start a seperate ride thread, but will most likely be meeting in deerfield at the irving gas station.

As far as gear and ability, I'm sure if you show up with sneakers on, your not going to be sent home, but the minimum should be boots, jeans, jacket, gloves and helmet. All rides are "ride at your own pace" and we did a pretty good job of breaking up in to different paced groups last year. The majority of us ride pretty spirited, so you should be fairly comfortable on a bike.

We are not judging anyone or here to tell you how you should dress, but I was on that ride the guy showed up with no gear and no helmet on and he ended up target fixating off the side of a road right in to another rider. Then I had to wait with him in the middle of nowhere for an hour and a half while an ambulance grabbed him and a tow truck picked up his bike. The guy he crashed into was fully geared, so he was able to collect himself and then ride home.

On a big ride like this, it can be dangerous if you haven't ridden with some of the people before, so at least if they show up with gear on, it helps determine that they probably care enough about there own safety and hopefully enough about everyone else around them, too.

You can bring who you want, just make sure they know the rules. When somebody goes down the police are usually called and they end up looking at everybody involved. Me personally, i don't need that kind of attention. Not that i'm a criminal but my license is my job and i don't want any added drama in my life.

Depending on where in Boston you are, the 495 meetup may be closer to you.
