Looking for a ride/good roads around UMASS

Go North on Interstate 91 to exit 24 and head East on Rt 116 to Rt 112 .

try heading down route 202 to shutesbury and take prescott road back to umass, prescott has some nice twisties

Yeah 116 has a few. I like going up 47 and going up the steep twisties to Mt Skinner. Great view up there.

rt 116 thru deerfield all the way to ashfield is really good...then if you take a right onto 112 it'll bring you into buckland falls, which is pretty nice too (watch out for cops on 112). 112 will dump you off onto rt 2 (mohawk trail) which is also pretty sick all the way up to north adams. I usually try to ride this route on a regular basis (at least once a week)...if you're interested in getting some rides together feel free to shoot me a email or something.


Also, I've never actually ventured much past north adams, but I ran into a group of riders on 116 on friday night who said that if you continue on rt 2 into NY there is more really good roads. I have gone north from there on rt 7 into bennington VT, then hooked up with rt 9 east to rt 8 back to north adams.....that was a sick ride, even tho it pushed the 4 or 5 hour mark.

I rode up 116 to Ashfield today then took route 9 to Williamsburg and stopped in Northampton for some dinner. Great ride, 116 is definitely the best part of the route I took.

I usually take this route to Amherst instead of 202. Hitting Wendell Depot coming from the Orange side is the way to go. Heading back to Orange is a little more sketchy based on sight lines, but fun none the less. The pavement is less than ideal once through Wendell Center but nothing to awful.

Yeah, just keep going past N. Adams...definitely worth it. Rivals 116 IMO; quicker (not as tight), but lightly traveled. Watch pavement in a couple spots when (if) heading East.
