The best stuff out there IMO. Expensive to pony up the first time, but so worth it if you want to ride in complete comfort down into freezing temps. I'd recommend the dual controller, base layer and gloves at a minimum. Socks are great as well.
Use coupon "advforum". IIRC it's 20% off
everything on the site, and usable infinitely.

Side benefit is I don't wear as many layers. Besides not feeling like a marshmallow man, I can adjust the temp as needed without pulling over.
It'll happen some day for sure. It's one of those things I seem to only think about when it's about the time it'd all come in handy. :lmao:

I've got mixed feelings, I don't like being Michelin man but I've had the experience of electrical failures

Re: Where did you ride today?
Totally wussed out this morning. Below 40 when I left the house this morning, but that dipped to 35 once I got down in "the valley". I'll be spending the better part of tomorrow on the bike though.

Not a chance. I'll likely be in eastern, northern or western NH.

Yup. There was a time when I was so pumped to ride I’d occasionally suffer those temps. No longer…
46 here in the valley this morning, natives are screaming about it and dressed for a nor’easter. I went to the range in shorts…
Temps in the 70s this weekend, definitely going out for a rip.

It was 76 at one point this afternoon, made it to the turkey farm for my first Thanksgiving sandwich of the season.

Re: Where did you ride today?
Went Fryeburg, North Conway, lunch at the Stairway Cafe, strafed some notches and got rained on in the Kanc. Never saw lower than 64F, 74F at 5:15pm as I'm putting things in the garage.
Oh, highlight of the ride was all of a sudden getting static and then other voices on our headsets. Next thing we hear is a stranger going "Oh hey, that's a Pan America!" as a group of bikes went by in the other direction.

Re: Where did you ride today?
Ended up doing a great little run Saturday. Back roads down & over to the seacoast area, mostly different back roads on the way back north. Everyone was pretty much done for the day, but I didn't want to waste the daylight so I ended up doing a mostly off the beaten path ride kind-of-sorta-but-not-really around Winni before I headed home. Almost 200 miles on the day.
Pro tip: Don't ever to go The Chop Shop Pub in Seabrook. What an absolute shithole of the highest order. The group I started with have a penchant for "biker bars" and wanted to check it out. Even that crowd didn't want anything to do with the place. I'm usually okay with dives - I usually hunt them out. But this place easily takes the cake.

EDIT: I had every intention of commuting on it today. Just when I was ready to leave it started raining pretty damn hard. In the long run I'm glad I didn't. I hit a couple downpours on my drive in. While the (warm) rain doesn't bother me much, riding in the dark in rain with idiot drivers that can't pay attention as it is totally turned me off.

I bought that style for the Scrambler when I bought it, like a POSER (not you r7).
I don’t know if it’s with all that style, but one of the most uncomfortable helmets over ever worn, and made the top of my head go numb :(

On Saturday I rode to the breakfast place at Hampton Airfield of route one. Never knew it existed. Decent.

Re: Where did you ride today?
I’ve started wearing goggles pretty much every time I ride (fortunately they aesthetically go with both of my bikes) because my eyes have always been extremely sensitive when I have my contacts in and for years I would frequently find myself pulled over on the side of the road trying to get some tiny piece of dust out of my eye so I could see again. It almost never happens with goggles, so I’ve started using them even if I have no intention of leaving the pavement.

Being a fair weather rider, the dirtbike helmets flow a lot more air than even the best road helmets. Plus that Airoh helmet is half the weight, and I like being different than everyone else

Never heard of it, but just checked out the menu. It'll be a destination soon fo' sho', bike or no bike. I'ma go with the steak tip omelet, smothered in sausage gravy with a side of summa that fresh made corned beef hash w/ sourdough toast. Probably wash it down with an ice cream soda. It IS the most important meal of the day after all...

I use goggles with my open face helmet. Not the dirty type though. Bad ass, mean mug "biker" goggles that fit over my glasses. Think Captain Wild Bill Kelso from 1941. :lmao:

I wear a dual sport helmet because I like the beak during sunrise/sunset (esp commuting) which is why I figured some folks wear dirty helmets. Now I'll have to try out the dirty helmet/goggle setup on hot weather street rides.

Re: Where did you ride today?
I got about 150 miles in today on gsxr riding from Albany to Syracuse. Tomorrow will be the return trip. Some nice back roads between the two.

Yup. I will have to go back later when it warmer out, I was freezing and not prepared.
. I also skirted the Herkimer diamond mines.
I stayed on 5s most of the way.

Re: Where did you ride today?
Not me, but I saw a couple sportbikes pulling into the local gas station up my way this morning around 6:20am. Roads were slushy, but it was raining at a good clip. Temps were about 35 degrees. In many ways I was envious.

Re: Where did you ride today?
Guy at the back of our street rides in straight up snow. I'd love to talk with him about what he does to the bike. He's your token BMW gs rider. I have legit been running my snowblower and seen him come home from work on the bike with 3 inches of snowing covering the road.

I have a good old fashion picture of RandyO when he rode to my house on his old SV650 just after an 8-10" snow storm. As you may or may not know, Randy was one of those guys who used to ride year round. There's also a video somewhere of him riding his VStrom around the ice track I used to keep.
