    ride to the Adirondacks

been 6 years since my last ride out, going to the annual Sugarbush breakfast at Paul Smith's College, 4/15

not a day trip this year, got a room in Gabriels, NY, ride over on 4/14, return on 4/16, I will take a direct route on the way over, but on the way back, I will meander a bit, check condition of Tracey Road

I'm just wondering when my driveway is gonna be firm enough to even get the bike out. Hard to believe we were comfortably riding this time of year just a few years ago!

my driveway is drying up as fast as it can, with all the snow melting into it

Gabes is a 250mile/5hr ride with some good routes in between, probably hit Middlebury Gap, and Lincoln Pond Rd on the way over

We've been getting 'sippy holes at the ends of our driveways where they meet the road. Started a few years ago when they ran the new waterlines under the lake and along my street. There's a major junction of pipe smack dab under our lawn now. I'ma make a few calls in a few weeks and ask them to investigate.

packing will be different, same amount of space as on my v-strom with side cases, just under the seat, not in a removable case that I just unlatch and bring with me into my lodging. Other than that, as normal, I will have to stop for gas 30 miles sooner, a lot better mpg (65) but only 3.8g tank vs 5.8. It's got fat 14" tires, as much rubber as any mid sized sportbike, and 550cc with CVT, does not perform much different than my old SV650. The Fuel injection is more sophisticated and smoother than my V-Strom 1000 for sure, but then again, it has to do better, it's always in gear, no bliping throttle, twist and go

I WILL hit T road on the way back fer fure, maybe visit my brother depending if he's home, or at camp, and do Appalachia Gap instead of Middlebury, I don't think Lincoln Gap will be open yet

    Re: ride to the Adirondacks

I have arrived at Paul Smith's, first trip on my scooter, plants itself solid on the highway, doesn't get blown around. It doesn't pass as well (CVT) as a bike you can drop 2 gears

Lincoln Pond RD & Hurricane Mtn roads are in awesome condition, I'll hit Tracy Road on the way back
