Ride to the Races 9/3 or 9/2 maybe both..

Thanks for the info Keira, This is my first weekend up there, and I think I can only go one day, I'm definately interested in cornerworking to help out, I always hear they need help.. But I want this trip to be a learning EXP.. Get to know whats going on, then go up next time and look into the corner working.. Mark If you go let me know, I'm good for Sunday I think, and If guys want to meet at MM and then we can meet you up there at the rest stop, Chuck It's a little ways from MotoMarket, but will most likely be a quick trip I don't like Highway riding so I tend to move along at a good clip, Not an arrest me speed, but A heavey fine speed.. We could also Think about meeting Dave at Exit 4 and have some breakfast with him and He knows some good back roads up there..

I'm not much for slabbing at high speeds. I usually travel 85 on my speedo (equal to somewhere between 75 and 78 actual)

Would you want to make it for some of the practices? Or just the races? We'd have to leave pretty early to make the practices.

If you guys decide to meet me at the BK off Rt. 93 Exit 4 we would leave around 9:00. Nice ride up, breakfast at Lion Cafe, and arrive around 11:30. Plenty of time to walk around, pick some spots, and meet some folks before the racing starts at noon. It can be interesting to listen in to the riders meeting which is usually a little before noon. (No Rookie race Sunday!)

Cornerworking is indeed a great experience but I feel that it's something best experienced after you have been to the races a few times. Believe me, it's confusing trying to figure out the different numbers, classes, what race is being run, etc.

If you want to join me Sunday let me know...

    Dave

OK, sounds like meeting Dave is a good idea. How about this:

Meet MM 7:30-7:45am. Roll out of MM at 8:00, sharp. Arrive BK in Londonderry (the one off exit 4, 93N in NH) at about 8:40ish.

Leave BK NH at 9:00, like Dave suggested.

This will be my first race day as well at NHIS, so just walking around, talking to the racers, and watching everything that goes on will probably be good for me. As of this morning, it's looking really nice for the whole day.

    OK, who's in?

So far, it's looking like me & Joe from MM. Dave from Londonderry, NH.

We will definately be going to the infield so if you can scam up some discount coupons that would be a GOOD THING!

My girl and I will be up there on Sunday. Maybe we'll stop by and see you guys. We'll be caging it up in her new Cooper S.
Dave, can you recommend any roads for us?

Take the same route we took last Sunday. When you get to Rt. 28 in Pittsfield, stay on 107 north. Follow that for about 6 miles then turn left on on Rt. 129. Follow that for about 4-5 miles and turn Rt. on Louden Ridge Road. As you crest the top of the hill in 'farm country' look off to your left and you will see the stands of NHIS about 5 miles in the distance. Louden Ridge Road will dump you off on 106. Turn left and the track is about 5 miles south on the right.

You won't be able to take your car into the paddock unless you are racing or on a racing team. If you get there around the same time as us flag us down and we'll bitch ride you in! (Even if you miss us...no biggie...not a far walk!

    Hope to see you there!

    Dave

I gave Pete (Oreo) a shout and he said to give him a jingle with the head count when we know better. (It has to be accurate, so he can scare up the coupons we'll need.) Probably best to call him when we meet Dave in Londonderry.

Then call him again when we get to the gate and someone will run the coupons up to us.

BTW, the CBR is running better with the new parts, but methinks it needs some carb adjustment and/or synchronization.
