Pioneer Valley Rider Training is hosting more seminars. The Traction Management seminar was a great success along with a NEW seminar on Survival, so we're offering it again.
We can meet for breakfast in Whately and I'll take you through some great roads to the classroom.

Summer Workshops
Join veteran instructor, racer and contributing editor for Motorcycle Consumer News, Ken Condon, for one or both of these 4 hour workshops:
Survival Secrets of Highly Successful Motorcyclists
Saturday, June 24, 2006
12:30PM to 4:30PM
Fee: $50.00
What constitutes a “good” rider? Is it someone who can do wheelies, drag his or her knee through corners, or rides for 100,000 miles without a crash? Undoubtedly, each of these traits are impressive, but the definition of a truly proficient rider is someone who understands the value of reducing risk. Riding with less risk enhances enjoyment and minimizes the likelihood of injury.
Good riders know that to reduce risk includes learning and practicing both mental and physical skills. Physical skills include advanced cornering techniques, emergency braking and evasive maneuvers. Mental skills include strategies for dealing with traffic, weather and other special situations.
Topics will include:
Understanding the risks of riding
Identifying situations that increase risk
Cornering secrets that put you in control
Special skills for surviving in traffic
Traction Management and Motorcycle Physics
Saturday, August 12, 2006
12:30PM to 4:30PM
Fee: $50.00
Managing traction is critical for staying on two wheels!! A rider who understands the ins and outs of traction management is much more likely to successfully handle difficult situations.
Topics will include:
Understanding traction consumers
Identifying situations that compromise traction
Actions that preserve traction
Basic motorcycle dynamics
How motorcycle geometry affects handling
Definitely looks like a couple of interesting and very worthwhile topics. Good opportunity for anyone to learn more about the sport we all love.
Too bad the August 12th seminar is on an LRRS race weekend and the June seminar is on the VIR race weekend... IF i don't go to VIR there's a good chance you just might see me there.![]()
