    Two-up Rides...

I say V-Strom too... considering the dirt riding it's the only way to go.

You'd probably love the ST or maybe even the Wing, but the V-Strom is the only one that would be as halfway decent in the dirt.

That BMW is FUGLY. They dropped that awful fairing this year. It's like they tried to make a bike as ugly as a Road King. (Yes I just said that)

    Two-up Rides...

I would like to have a V-strom, it would certainly be a better 2 up bike than my SV or XV920R and I know that Givi luggage is available to effectivly have a backrest.

    But

I am beginning to lean towards something specificly designed as a 2 up bike and if I can swing it, a Wing is the way I would like to go, good weather protection, quiet, (you can carry on a conversation with your pillon as you ride) well balanced, plenty of luggage for a 2 up weekend getaway, capability of towing a trailer (for instance to go on a 2 up trip to Deals Gap AND bring the SV along)

    Two-up Rides...

When i two up ride i like my body snug against the person in front of me

But i haven't been on any long 2-up rides....i bet the bigger bikes would be comfy...but i like the sexy look of the V-strom...

    Two-up Rides...

    Randy,

Why not get a used Concours? They are cheap, reliable, long lived and quite comfy for two-up rides. Put factory backrest or a Givi trunk on it, get get Russell or Mayer custom seat, put a bigger windsheild on, and you have a great two-up touring bike for little cash. They don't have the Cappucino maker, Microwave oven and Smoothie dispenser like a Gold Wing but they don't cost as much as a new Accord either. I paid $1950 for mine, put <$1100 into the seat, windshield, forks and backrest and have had a decent touring bike for many years now.

If you desire sportier front brakes and forks, a ZRX1100 or 1200 front end ($500 on ebay) bolts right on. If you want a bigger alternator to run extra lights and two sets of electric clothing, a ZZR1200 alternator ($700 new) bolts right in.

If you still wish to purchase a new bike, the cheap old Conk will enable it.

If you pull one plug boot off, it'll feel and perform just like a V twin
