    Re: Great Riding Roads!

The roads I take from Nashua NH to Richmond, Nh where my parents have a seasonal camping site is great. rt 111-113-119. Once there you're in the lower mountains so every road is twisty. Most are well maintained as well.

Here on Cape Cod everyone rides rt 6A on the bay side. Its nice but can get congested during busy weekends-but during the shoulder season, when most the restaurants are still open its a good ride from the canal to P-town.

Well only 116 nw out of South Deerfield
intersects with 112 which is also good

All the others have terrible pavement

Boxford, Topsfield, Andover area is where i go for quick rides during the week. Light traffic, decent roads. Usually cops running radar here and there though being rush hour. Boxford nabbed me once 47 in a 20 but they were cool. Cop was a rider and let me off with a verbal.

For the real good riding gotta head north or west for a while.

Oh, I used to work in Woburn and I would spend all kinds of time on the cloverleaf. Good times...

Mike and I are always on Chestnut i looking for roads west of the 495 belt. Most of the roads I have to agree! They are all great I've done 111 across the state of NH that was a nice ride. I'm hoping to get a couple weekend day long trips out west and north. Up early meet up somewhere and have a set route and just hit it have fun tell stories stop for lunch and head home. My ideal weekend!

Boxford, Topfield, Andover (basically Harold Parker State forest area) are the good roads around Wilmington but be safe, it's also an area where kids drive around to smoke the pot

from that area you can also get up in to the Danver, Salem; Glouscester, Manchester by the Sea area. They have a lot of nice roads along the ocean that are great if you hit them early morning weekends before they get too crowded.

I lived in Bolton (right off 495) for a while and they have GREAT roads around that area.. Clinton, Boylston, Sterling around the Wachusett Reservoir area.. you can also get out to that area from Wilmington on some nice backroads through Billerica, Carlisle, Westford

    Re: Great Riding Roads!

The two sites below make it easy to find decent roads in an area you're heading too. From both browsing, and visiting some, they definitely seem like the 'touring' oriented roads. Mostly scenic stuff, longer connecting sections, wider roads etc. I love the 1 and a half car wide roads with trees hanging over, but you're somewhat on your own to find those. Especially in a way that you can play connect the dots. Lazy quick option: Google maps, Avoid highways checkbox. Expert mode is to set it for 'walking' instead of car.

Route 62 is decent outside of 128 and gets better the farther west you go.

Which is pretty dumb because there is a MSP barracks on Route 125 and the MSP cut through HPSF to get to Rt 114 and east all the time. They know the nice roads, too.

Generally agree. My little rule was to not crap in your own area thus I was totally joking about chestnut st. That is my backyard literally. Dont be dragging knee and losing it on gravel as I take my daughter to school wiping me out.

    be safe out there.

I live directly off Chestnut/Butters and that street has been brutal recently between cops and accidents. Don't shit where you eat is right. The high-score sign heading towards Butters is cool though

First off I never said to go to these road dragging knee which is DUMB anywhere on a public road, second there can be police ANYWHERE and everywhere so your point is seriously idiotic. You can still drive twisty roads roads and enjoy them at normal speeds.

I drove those roads almost everyday for about 12 years and NEVER saw a state police driving around the forest and barely EVER saw town cops driving around the forest either which is why we went there. Staties don't patrol the forest OR the backroads around it. They're state police and they get on 125 and either drive up to I495 or south to I93 and patrol the highways... also the Danvers MSP barracks is where your 114 States come from... not Andover

With that in mind.. i wouldn't be going 100mph down 125 past the barracks either.

Anyways typical answers from the typical bunch of cunts on this site, everything that they say is the word of god and anything anyone else says is stupid.

Mammoth Rd. This can be an ok road to ride on, better late at night when less traffic. Actually goes through Manchester and pops out at Rt 28 north of the city.

There are a ton of small back roads in through that entire area though. Hudson, Pelham, Nashua, Londonderry all have some great little roads. Just need to keep an eye on the speeds as the local law enforcement will ticket you.

    Re: Great Riding Roads!

I like Bush Hill Rd off of Mammoth. Thats a pretty good twistie just 10 mins out of Lowell. Has a nice uphill right hander about half way through that you can get some good lean goin. Watch for sand.

121 and 121A are both good for sweepers. They're patrolled quite a bit so watch you speed especially going through each town center.

122 through Hollis then 13 to Mont Vernon/Goffstown is a relaxing ride. Nice scenerey, Apple Orchards, Sweepers, Decent Pavement
