Riding Routes

I usually ride in Eastern Conn. on Sundays. I'm getting sick of the usual ride from the Vanilla Bean. I usually hit 169 with a couple of buddies. Any suggestions where we should go from the Bean?

RI749, I'm always down for exploring new routes and rides. Drop me a pm anytime you wanna go find some back roads. I've been doing the Vanilla bean thing too for some time, and I'm kinda bored with it.

i think everyone from RI takes that 165 route to the VB, and we are all bored with it

Usually I just take the quickest way to 295, then grab 14 out towards 116 or 12, 94, 117, Hopkins Hollow just to name a few, so keep those in mind for the return from the VB. I have found some pretty tasty roads just by trying to get lost. There are some pretty rarely traveled roads out on the western side of RI....word of advice though, I have found, especially near Arcadia Mgmt Area, some of the roads have a bad habit of turning to dirt without warning.

Getting lost is one of the best ways to find half decent roads. Its just finding them again that turns out to be a pain in the ass. I'm always up for getting lost.

These twisties pop out of no where and cut deep. You really cant see if you going to take a left or right so for safety the best thing is to cruise around first then just pick up the speed man!!!

105 to the cape is a nice run. If you go over the bridge and follow the coast that can be fun as well. Problem is in the summer when there is a billion people down there. I think after September this past year I made like 4 or 5 runs that way and it was great.

I go the same way and it is SWEET right know during the spring also. Sometimes I go toward Plymouth then hit the Cape just to make the ride last longer.
