Take a run around Wachusett Reservoir. It's one of my favorite local rides.

You can take 140 all the way into NH if you want.

I'm not sure about 1/2 a day, but I'll ride around in that area for a couple hours.
From Ashland, I usually head west and south. There's a lot of relatively low traffic
30mph windy rural stuff in the area boxed in by Westborough, Ashland, Milford, and Upton.

Re: Any road advise in my area

I really like Fruit Street in Hopkinton. Sometimes I'll make a lap out of Fruit Street, Saddle Hill Road, and 135 and go around a couple times. For some reason I prefer to ride it clockwise.

Sometimes I'll also make a loop out of Westboro Rd in Upton to Upton Road in Westboro, then down 135 to west main st in hopkinton.

To get down there from Marlborough, sometimes I'll take Oak Street to Cordaville. A quick right and left puts you on Howe Street to Wilson Street and that dumps you down on 135. Oak Street is kinda boring, but Howe/Wilson is pretty fun.

I live in Marlborough and my "I'm going out for 1/2 an hour ride" usually starts with Farm -> BroadMeadow -> Parmenter -> Edmands.
From there, sometimes I'll take Nixon north and loop back around, but usually I'll just take Winch back around to Grove Street.
If Parmenter had fresh pavement on it, that might be one of my favorite roads in MA.

Another loop I'll take goes through Sudbury:
o Start out on 20 east out of Marlborough
o Left onto Peakham (and enjoy) all the way to 27.
o A quick right left on to Concord Rd North
o I'll stick with that all the way through a couple road name changes (Pantry/Dakin/etc) to route 2.
o Make a right and come back south past Emerson Hospital. I don't know the name of that road, but it head south and dumps you on Sudbury Road which becomes Concord.

One of my co-workers is taking the BRC in a couple weekends. He lives in Sherborn. I road through there a little bit last weekend and I like the scenery, but didn't spend enough time to find roads I like. Hopefully, I'll be spending more time down that way.

    Jeff,

Be careful with Sherborn and Dover, lot of speed traps since the cops have nothing else to do in those towns. There's a lot of cool scenic roads in South Natick, Dover, Sherborn and Westwood if you're in a scenic ride want to stay local kind of mood. I used to have a circular route that I used to do that went through all the towns I listed above but it's been a while. I'd have to dig up the route that I used to do.

There's this one road in Dover where you can straight up drag a knee on if you're willing to do it on a somewhat blind turn. It's my little hidden gem!

That is "Old Road to Nine Acre Corner" (ORNAC).

Theres a lot of good routes around you, Sherborn, south natick, Dover are all nice scenic roads, but cops are not very forgiving.

Theres also a ton of roads heading north from Framingham thru Marlboro and I know routes all the way to NH & Vt.

We'll have to meet up and I can show you some.

I actually have a little loop that I do in Dover. It's nothing crazy but it's not bad for being local. Jeff if you shoot me your email and I'll send you the loop I do including that knee dragging turn you can do in Sherborn.
