Good Roads in Eastern MA and Southern NH?

    Hello,

I started my riding career out in Western Massachusetts, so I got used to having Route 116 and numerous other fantastic roads close by. Now I live in Boston and life is good, but the riding is absolutely terrible. I'm not really looking to get my knee down on the street anymore (older & wiser = keep it at the track now), but there have to be SOME fairly nice roads within 45 minutes - 1 hours of Boston. Can someone please enlighten me?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Here's my old bike out in Western MA:

Nice photos and nice bikes! I hear the Fellsway is nice for a short ride.. I'm sort of new to the eastern side of the state, too.

About the roads...I feel your pain. I'm in central MA and I always head west from here.

It's Skinner State Park... actually a terrible riding road - covered in moss & hikers, blind corners, and too narrow. The photo just turned out rather nice.

Seacoast Sport Cycle Rides will get you on a ton of fun roads...if I do say so myself!!!

    http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...ribs-ride.html for example!

And a bunch of us will do ad-hoc rides from the Derry area...just keep your eye peeled on the the Rides forum.

    (Lovely ride....seriously!)

Re: Good Roads in Eastern MA and Southern NH?

From I495... Get off at exit 51 north toward Plaistow NH. Go north on rte.125 about a mile and stay left at the fork with the mobil station. This will put you on rte. 121. This a great road with many twisty and passing sections. This road goes from Haverhill Ma to Manchester NH. There are a few turns with well marked signs stay on rte.121. After about 15 or 20 miles on 121 you will take a left. This section is the great few miles:-) This area is tight twisty and well paved. I am good for this ride at least a few times a week. This area will go around a lake. If you turn back around after the good switchback section and head back through the center of Chester you can follow rte.121a back in to Ma for a switchup

***Be careful in the center of Chester NH the cops watch carefuly and the other town centers***

nine times out of ten its an electric razor, but...every once in a while...its a dildo. of course its company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo, we have to use the indefinite article "a" dildo ...and not..."your"...dildo...
