    Rough Roads/Twisties/Dual Sport ride

Leaving from Royalston MA tomorrow morning, 9-10am depending on weather.

Great for bikes like KLR's, 1200GS's, etc. Not good for sportbikes. Good for fairly softly sprung standards. Not good for chrome. Good for touring bikes that don't might the tight bumpy stuff. Not good for flush mount turn signals, "under-tail" kits and lights that light up your engine compartment but not the road for some ungodly reason.

Dirty bumpy roads, but not dirt.

Pass whenever you want, but don't attract attention.

    No passing the ride leader.

    No loud exhausts.

I did this route last weekend with a couple somewhat newbies, they enjoyed it greatly.

    ATRGATT

Will be stopping for lunch somewhere, at some point.

There will be a couple instances during the day where you can split off and head home via slab.

Link to the last ride I hosted. Yes, look at the year/date. Same route for the most part.

I assume you're riding on Route 32 in your area

    Definitely my kind of ride...

But after 12 hours or so of riding to get back and forth to Americade... I'm off the bike for a few days.

    Have fun!

I'll host again Tony, don't worry.

Mild compared to track/racing/spirited, but tons of giggles on a KLR!

I managed to get a couple "ah-HA! I get it now" moments out of the newbies I took with me on 8A last weekend too. Kinda makes me miss those magic rides when I was first learning the basics of riding.

Ken and I did the twisties of Route 2 all the way into NY.

The KLR handled it all... with 3 full bags, plus tenting equipment... all on DOT Knobby dirt tires.

I'm thinking of upgrading the shock, revalving the forks... and putting on some more road worthy tires.

I just finished putting it together last night with some Shinko 761's (road tires pretty much) and setting my sag with my new Intiminator valves in the front end. You HAVE to try them. They work like magic!
