Rt. 2 ride to Albany, 5/9

I'll be riding the length of Rt. 2 from Boston to Albany on 5/9. I'll be making the return trip on 5/11 as well. I've been looking for an excuse to try out my new Nelson Rigg saddle bags, we'll see how they go.

Anyone who wants to go or just go part of the way is more than welcome.

I expect to leave around 2pm but I may skip my only class that day and leave around 10am.

    actually

if you are going to be in Saratoga, the better ride is back ( WAY BETTER ) is NY-372 - NY-29. to Rt. 22 to rt 2

372 is awesome.... that way you don't spend 1/2 of your time in ny on I87 south..

Don't know that way but if your interested... ;-)

I'm game for anything that doesn't take me too far out of the way. I still need to make decent time back to Boston.

Rt. 2 ride to Albany, 5/9

it's faster with my route, and way more enjoyable..

    Estimated...
    Saratoga - Albany 42 miles (I-87)
Albany - North Adams 40 miles (rt 2)

    My Route
Saratoga - Cambridge NY 25 miles
    Cambridge-North Adams 35 miles.(rr 22- rt 2)

of course the albany to saratoga is all highway... but the other is way more fun ..

As long as I get in plenty of hours Monday -> Thursday I'll leave at like 3PM or something.

I'll probably leave Troy to come home around noon on Sunday.

I usually go out Rt. 2. the whole way, it takes me like 2 blocks from my destination.

    Ben,

    What's your status for tommorow?

I don't know if i should take the bike or the cage. I am tempted to take the cage so i can make my mom do my laundry. Happy Mothers Day!

    I am taking my bike...

I got it wet before and it didn't melt.

I'm partly packed already, I will be riding to work and leaving from here (Waltham) around 3-4PM tomorrow.

I can go later if necessary. I'm planning on trying to ride straight through without stopping at all to test out my new saddle.

If I go with someone else I might be willing to stop for a photo break. There are a couple good spots on Rt. 2. that would make for some nice pictures. (Of people riding bikes) I also have an extra bed in my hotel room if someone wanted to ride all the way out and thought they might need a place to crash.

You think it's gonna rain? Weather.com isn't showing anything major.

I've done the whole trip in the pooring rain and fog. No big deal, the ZX doesn't melt either.

I didn't want to leave any later than 3. Can I meet you someplace at 3 and just go from there? I don't mind goin straight through. I'll need to stop once for gas though.

    Let me know...
