Hey all,
I searched and couldn't find anything and was wondering if anyone knew of any nice short rides just north of Boston. I live in Medford (closer to Everett) and I don't often have time to ride for an hour to find a nice stretch of road and was wondering if anyone knew any nice roads within a more reasonable distance?

I'm in Medford too. I have some romps I like but I'd prefer to keep them off the 'Net. Those loops you got there are fun but I've run into the Man way too often on them.

The two loops you mentioned here have been pretty much void of police action at the times/days I ride them which I will not post here. I know of others who ride them too. Lets hope we all can continue to enjoy them in the future as they really are short, fun runs closer to Boston.

Removed the map because it seems like it's not the best idea. Still would really like to find some more rides.

keep an eye out for the richardson ride threads. lots of great roads on the north shore, most of which are low traffic back roads that receive minimal attention from those you probably don't want noticing you.

Im in...let me know when anyone is riding them I am in the Northshore..
Ditto! (Now I've just got to finish bleeding the front lines.)
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
I'm in ur edits, forwardin ur loops to The Man.
Hi All,
I've been lurking for a little while here and decided to join up; Kenn (Stinger157) referred me to you guys. Anyway I'm in Brighton, also been looking around for some good, more local rides as most of the roads around Boston are just no good.
If anyone wants to meet up just shoot me a message. I'm not going to be able to do the major group ride this weekend but getting the bike out and about this weekend is a must. Would be cool to meet some local riders.
Random note: current ride is an '07 SV650n. Also still have the littlest Ninja ('08 version) kicking around.![]()
I'm free Saturday for a ride and live in Boston. A 2-5 hour ride sounds good to me
I'd be interested but I'm going to the Sox-Yanks game and will probably have to drink heavily given their recent performance. Definitely another time though.
I'm always passing by Brighton, and have a good friend in Allston where I used to live. Some day if you guys are up for the ride let me know. I'm still up in the air on the group ride.. it's just that it's a looong day out and long miles for my poor neck/back. Still... Sat I'm going to uncover the bike and fire it up. Maybe oil change.. or maybe next weekend.
Any thoughts on an immediate oil change vs a little bit later?
I'm definitely down for a ride, I work at BC and live in Medford so I'm always around that area. Unfortunately I can't make it to the ride this weekend as I have a wedding to go to, but definitely another time!
Regarding the oil change, If you did one right before storing it for the winter, I'm sure its "fine" what you got but it's probably better to do one sooner rather than later. That being said, I REALLY need to do an oil change too...![]()

Yeah.. makes me feel guilty, no I didn't do an oil change at the end of the season, so I don't really want to start off the season without changing it all out first... Heck, I don't even know if my battery is dead from being out in the cold. Last year my bike did great.. this year.. it's a new bike, who knows?![]()
I'd be up for a local-ish ride too. Out of E.Arlington.
I'm in the area too. Would love to join up on some of these shorter rides. I'd also be interested to see those loops![]()
I'm in Watertown and I'm up for a ride most weekends.
I like the N Shore Ride on Best Of New England. Pretty good run at the right times.
