Sunday, May 17th Tilton Arch Ride

We leave Seacoast Sport Cycle in Derry at 10:00 sharp to explore some nice roads in western NH that eventually roll east and bring us to the Tilton Arch. We plan to stop and grab some sandwiches en-route and have a picnic in the park. From there we head east and eventually south back home.

This is a good ride for two-upsters so bring your boyfriend or husband along!!!

It goes without saying that you'll arrive with jacket, gloves, helmet and appropriate footware!

Just head to the meet spot and do the ride to tilton with the group and then split off after lunch, that is most likely what i will do as i live on the western part of the state and do not want to go all the way back east just to end the ride...

I'm in your neighborhood, Northfield. Last yr I rode down so I could hit the western roads with the group. It's not bad to bust down on the slab. If the weathers decent I'll probably be goin. If you want we could maybe meet at ParknGo, x19 and scoot down together. Should head down 8:30 or so.

As I write this...Thursday evening...they are calling for a 70% chance of showers for Sunday. <<EDIT: NOW, FRIDAY MORNING, THEY CHANGED TO A 30% CHANCE OF SHOWERS. PERHAPS THE FRONT THEY FEARED WOULD STALL IS MOVING MORE QUICKLY!!!>> I am planning to leave Seacoast at 10:00 sharp so there will be time to make a call on the ride by 7:00 or so. Generally speaking, I'll go if its a chance of an occaisional shower...in fact, some years past that seemed to be a given! But if it looks like we'd be wet more that we'd be dry I'll postpone and reschedule.

Also, some people have posted and pm'd me about the 'pace'. I ride at 80% of my ability based on conditions. I consider that 'spirited'. I'm sure that there are folks that would like a faster pace under different conditions...and if I'm with 2-3 folks, 80% under those conditions would certainly be faster!

The MOST IMPORTANT 2 THINGS ARE:

• Ride your own ride. Period. 80% of your comfort level. There is no need to exceed that on my rides. No one gets left behind!
• If 80% for you is faster than my pace...and your unhappy riding my pace...feel free to leave the group and strike out on your own! No hard feelings!

Perhaps others may want to chime in about the pace...feel free!

So...fingers crossed that the weather breaks! And I look forward to seeing a bunch 'o Nessers on this ride!
