Tail of the Dragon Ride

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum. I was planning a ride to the Tail of the Dragon in the end of July. Wanted to see if there was any local interest in putting together a ride. I had a week or so in mind but am open to ideas. Anyone interested or have any thoughts?

Randy My plan was to take a couple days to ride there. Not so sure the Falco would be all that comfy that I could handle a 1000mi straight through ride! I can be a little flexible on the dates. Would rather take a nice route, not sure what that really is yet and not do just flat straight interstate the whole way. Look for some brewery's along the way and have some adult soda

i would say slab it to the BRP and then cruise from there

My first trip down,

from Concord, NH, I took Rt 9 to Bennington, VT, Rt 7, Rt 2, Rt 22, Rt 199 to Kingston, NY, from there, Rt 209 all the way to Millersburg, PA, hopped on the highway to get around Harrisburg. Spent first nite in Gettysburg, from there, to Front Royal, found some nice twisties in MD, then Skyline Drive & Blue Ridge Parkway the rest of way, spent second nite in Roanoke

stayed at Crossroads 3 days then the return trip spent first nite on way back in Big Stone Gap, VA, then in roundabout way thru Lynch, KY, War, WV I stayed in Beckley, WV secont nite, Marietta OH, the next nite, from there, everything stopped going according to pan, my riding mate crashed his CBR in OH, I spent the next nite in wheeling, WV, then slab from there home

I guess I'm not completely opposed to trailering part of the way....just hate to spend beautiful (hopefully) days in the car....Randy..Sounds like a hell of a trip till your buddy trashed the CBR. Gotta get a new seat for the falco before I head down, but if I had someone that wanted to make the trip with me I would consider trailering.

I'm headed down with Iglu and several other folks 3rd week in June. It will be my first time driving the Gap on my own bike, but I have been a passenger over the past 2 years! Great place, lots of roads to head out on other than the Gap, and just a hell of a time over all. I've always trailered down as not sure a 250 Ninja would be a comfy 1000 mile ride.
