I might also fire up the FZR, but with the cold weather I'm probably staying around the westborough/boylston/clinton/hudson, MA area

62 miles for me and I froze my balls off and ate like a pig.

Where did you go to get 130 miles around here?

Took a trip to narragansett, over to bever tail, then a short sprint on 95. A whole bunch of back road riding followed that. Hit most of roads off of hope furnace, some great riding out there. It was my "annoying family advodiance" tatic, was a great way to get out for a few hours. I think it was only 130....

I put 5 miles on the bike yesterday. A quick run to get some gas is all.
    Cold in VT yesterday.

I always use this as an excuse to take a quick spin, so once the sun came out and the roads dried a little, I went to start the bike and gas it up. It turned over a few times, but it had been sitting too long, and eventually got tired.

So I attached it to an IV and to replenish it:

At this point, since the modern marvel of electricity failed me, I turned to the more traditional mechanical methods to start an engine: the kickstart

And man was it a blast tearing those tires into the ground...dirt bikes are just an entirely different kind of fun that can be equally entertaining to any skill level of motorcyclist.

As a matter of fact, as the temperatures get colder, I think it can be more fun because you're not going as fast (keeping the windchill down and allowing you to keep more of your heat) and cold tires don't necessarily reduce the thrill of your ride.

After a quick 30 mins of riding, I packed up the dirt bike and checked on the FZR. To my surprise, that 30 mins of tender time was plenty of charge to get the bike started. It roared to life.

    Battery tender FTW!

So I used this excuse to deposit a check @ the bank (damn direct deposit hasn't started yet) and go for a ride.

The evening BF shoppers were sort of a drag, but I did get a chance to get on some more deserted back roads and see if the colder temps had any effect on keeping the front wheel down.

After the sun was behind the clouds, you could notice the difference sunlight made in keeping you warm (especially when riding through the woods), so I went home before getting to do anything too fun (or stupid).

Unfortunately, I completely forgot about getting gas and adding some gas stabilizer. Oops. Looks like I'll have to go out another time this winter...

    The End.

    Happy Holidays
