Two of us are trailering the sportbikes down to Deal's Gap. There is room on the trailer for one or two more bikes. If any of you are interested in coming along, don't mind sharing expenses, have good hygene or resemble Natilie Portman please let me know.
The plan is to load the bikes Wednesday night in Manchester NH. We will head south Thursday night. We will try to get as much riding in as possible Friday and Saturday, maybe just a little bit on Sunday then load up and return.
Any takers?
RMBBIKES should be all over this...
VERY INTERESTED i don't resemble Ms Portman but posess the other qualities and I have a good personality to make up for bad looks.
Where are you's guys staying down there? Have you been there before?
Pm me your number I'm very intersted.
That is a long frikin ride for just the weekend and the gap sucks on the weekend. I'll need to think this one through!

You may want to think about trailering to Front Royal Virginia and then riding Skyline Drive, The Blue Ridge Parkway and then the Tail of the Dragon. Yes there are cops on those first two roads but just the fact that they make up 600 miles without a stop sign or traffic light makes them a worthy ride.Originally posted by rmbbikes

I hope there are lots of gas stations. The RC gets very thirsty.the fact that they make up 600 miles without a stop sign or traffic light makes them a worthy ride.
FWIW: We'll be in Lowell tonight taking advantage of the Dyno runs.
Later!
Just because those roads don't have stop signs and traffic lights in the main direction doesn't mean there aren't exits to drop down from the mountains and hit a town for gas, food and lodging. Actually some of the roads into the towns are a series of hairpins and a lot of fun to ride as well.Originally posted by CBRent

We got to the Gap around 1:00 Friday. Due to lack of sleep and an excess of adreneline (poor judgment) I crashed by 4:00. I carried too much speed into the turn and low sided. I felt like a hero up to that point.
I proved a couple rules.
If part of you is telling you to slow down, you should.
Wearing your gear will save your life.
Sportbikers and dual sporters stop to ask if they can help. No Harley's did.
Damage: The RC needs new forks and some plastic.
I need six weeks to heal 2 vertebra, 3 ribs, 1 skull and 1 shoulder. I plan to return next season.
Any one have any RC51 parts?
Later!
Very sorry to hear about your crash, hope you heal up A-OK soon

So is that you on the front page of Killboy?
That's why we usually wait until we get a full night's sleep before putting a key in our bikes when we go down there!
Too tempting though, I know how you feel, I'm guilty of the same thing a couple times. Just can't wait to rip those twisties once you see'm!

I found some pics of us on Killboy, but not on the front page. I have a silver RC51. Oddly enough they took pics of the Durango trailering the bikes up the mountain too.
Yes, I will get more sleep before attacking the mountain again.
Have a great one!
