So...to all considering doing VIR....DO IT! It's worth every minute of the 26 hour round trip.
Many thanks to Matt for his generosity in letting us hitch a ride with him in his RV. That boy can get that beast into spots I'd wonder about getting my Tacoma into!
Matt, Kevin, Ritchie, Dan and Dave were great travel companions. 26 hours in an RV is a long time but these guys made it seem like much less.
Paul and Carlton joined us on Sunday at VIR and fit in great with the RV group. Looks like Paul may be racing soon......and to hear that Carlton had broken bones in his leg and was only medicating himself with advil is amazing. You are a real trooper Carlton...hopping around and all. Get better soon!
Got a chance to do a two-up ride with Scott Harwell during the Cornerspeed School and it was incredible! He was slipping and sliding that thing all over the place, passing people left and right. Last lap (of 3) he leaned over to let me get a peak at the speedo down the straight and saw that we were going 175! It was a great experience to see what a fast guy can do with a person on the back.
Still having a hard time adjusting to the 800 twin after the 636. Hitting the rev limiter at 7500 rpm is something I didn't see on the I4 that's for sure! I'm looking forward to getting to NHIS next month to get some more track time on the twin.
I hope that the group going to VIR this coming week has as good a time as we did.
