Weekly get together for local riders.

Would like to know who would be interested for a weekly get together for some local riding and food/ice cream, either on Wednesdays or Thursdays evenings.

We would start off around 6PM at a meeting point, have some food and fun with everyone, then head out for a short local ride (1 to 2 hour ride usually)

Hooters in Springfield usually have bike nights on Wednesdays (food at Hooters sucks tho), and on Thursdays there is the Springfield bike night downtown Springfield.

A few other good places are:

The Summer House in Southwick for good food and ice cream (plenty of parking space, picnic tables outside, green lawn to sit under the trees, etc.),

Louie B's or Crabby Joe's in Southwick, right on the Congamond Lakes, for food/drinks/entertainment out on the outdoor terrasses.

Given the response we get, we're going to pick a night (again, Wednesdays or Thursdays) and place, and make it a weekly meeting spot. Hope to see all of you guys and gals!

Nope, not spirited. Nice pace, but nothing crazy, nothing to get us in troubles. A few miles over speed limits. Just riding and enjoying being with other riders, having fun...ya know.

i did this last year V...

we either met at my place, or at Uno's by the hall of fame... Uno's has a big parking lot, and afterwards a lot of us would hang out and eat on their patio listening to live music, or head to bike night.

Sorry Kitt but I'd like to stay clear of Springfield area...I'm out of there and VERY happy about it. There will be weeks that we're going to hit bike night over there and I don't mind doing the Uno thing once, but not every single week. I think there is much nicer places to hang out, such as the ones I mentioned right on the Congamond lakes, and it's right next to some good roads ready to jump on for a short ride. Crabby Joe's and Louie B's have patio terrasses right on the lakes, pool tables, nice crowd too. Also I'll be looking at doing a few rides in other people's areas, such as "The Rapids" in Huntington, near Andrea's place (Adrenalinechic), nice restaurant with a terrasse overlooking the rapids on the river, etc. I will try to make everyone happy...lol

I'll most likely post up for the first one to be on Thursday May 17th with the time and location.

k, not as many people are going to get there as easily... I was just makign a statement, ti worked out well for us, being at the end of rt 57.

also didn't realize you were a gang leader now... you'll have to trade your bike in and be one of those chicks on a busa you told me about if you're going to speak for everyone haha.

Crabby joe's and the area are an accident waiting to happen... plenty of rednecks, and i've seen mroe than one drunk driving away. Be safe, if you meet at a less alcohol oriented venue, fill me in.

I'm not speaking for everyone, I'm just "inviting" people to join a small group get together on Thursday nights. What's the difference when it's you or someone else posting a ride that you might lead or not with a meeting point, time, and destination? I see none. First of, I certainly am NOT looking to make this a huge group of dozens of bikes just hanging/posing in some big parking lot near downtown Springfield. We're just looking to have a nice get together of about an hour or so with a few riding buddies, enjoying an ice cream/limonade or whatever and head out on backroads to get some nice riding for a few hours. (get more riding time than hanging out... )

If you want to join in, you're more than welcome to, if you don't that's fine too but this thread is not about arguying this or that and I'm sure there will be other people leading the rides other than me on Thursdays and show us new roads. Now I got sick of having ride threads being pissed on "elsewhere", don't come in here and do the same please.

Ok, I don't see why there is even an "argument" about this. Stephan and I would just like to get together with some "local" riders (or any un-locals who would like to join). Some people in this thread have expressed interest in coming along and it's great. I'll say it again, I'm not looking to get a big group going with this. If you want to RIDE with us on Thursdays, this is an invite. If you don't, then just don't! If you want to go to Springfield bike night, park your bike, walk around cruisers and do the whole pose fest every week, start a thread and I'm sure many will show up. Simple as that! No need to bash on other people's rides because it doesn't suit you? Besides, why the big fuss about Southwick, or Westfield, or even Huntington for get togethers? Everyone make it sound like it's in the neck of the woods...Southwick is only about 10-15 minutes from I-91 (if that...some of you make it way faster than that...lol) It sound a little weird to hear that it is "too far" coming from certain people, when they ride all the way to UMass/Amherst/etc. to get to a ride meeting point... We never had a problem riding to Basketball Hall of Fame, or to Amherst, NoHo, Enfield, etc. to meet with other riders for a ride, yet when we post a ride starting in our area, nobody is willing to make it here. Point is, nobody is twisting anyone's arm to join on any given ride, and anyone is free to post their own ride.
