Rt. 6 through CT and PA

Has anyone traveled straight though rt. 6 through CT. Is this a nice road to travel on or a lot of traffic? We are heading to Ohio and don't want to be on the highway the whole time, but don't want to sit in traffic either.

I live on Rt 6 in CT. Its not exactly a twisty turny back-road. There are busy parts, and non-busy part. Its not a highway, but at certian points in the day, the traffic definitly backs up.
