So when is the next ride... I had an ok time on the last one let me know if you all are up for another one...
vaa I heard your bike dyno'd well at bike night...
I am planning to ride Sunday, probably in the 9-3 time frame. Wont be up from the previous night hangover much before then, and have plans after that.
Is route 9W from Worcester all small towns and traffic lights or a good route east/west? Ultimately I'm hitting Rt. 2, following it for the Mohawk trail and just into NY. Turn around before Grafton NY to run it again.
Suggestions?

route 9 has alot of lights but does have some nice relistate in certain places depends on what you want to deal with while riding, but then again i dont know any beter route![]()

the parts of rt 9 i know are pretty small towny with lots of lights, but I could be wrong further west. I know through specner, brookfield.
Rt. 9 between Wooster and Ware isnt bad. Probably better once you get past Leicester and that area. Its not a bad "here to there" road, certainly beats the highway. Just watch yourself, MSP barracks in Spencer? I know I've been pulled over in a cage there for doing the speed limit. And West Brookfield is pretty vigilant too on the speeding.
Cheese, whats that route you have posted there for?![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
Sunday(8/13) if I can find others that want to join. Certainly don't want to discourage people from going to the races though.Originally posted by JeffL

Double check your mail, if it didnt make it, I'll send it again.

Rt 20 may be better than 9, but I am not really sure. I dont really head out that way much myself. What time we heading out?
i would be interested in going on a cruise let me know a time and place![]()

I dont think we have anything concrete, but the times are 9ish to 3ish and meeting somewhere central ma and heading probably west. I know it is vauge, but I am kind of a wing it kind of girl. Cheese - if you want to make the plans, I will just go along with whatever, just remember my uncomfortable seat, lol
dont worry shannon i think the gixxer is far less forgiving than yours, mine hurts tobut what ever the vauge plans are i will probably be in
so how about any one else...tater, vaa, bueler...anyone?

cool, look forward to riding with you! I might have one or two others with me, not sure yet, but either way, looks like a great day for a ride!!!
Cheese - up to you for details![]()

I might be in, but I only know of isolated s-turns locally...not a long continuous route.
For reference:
-route 2 from 190 to florida, MA is mostly straight highways w' some passing through small towns.
-route 20 is gentle cruising road, but there aren't any twisties between worcester and springfield
-route 70 is ok, but not windy enough
What someone needs to do is figure out a twisty route (w'out traffic and away from cops) between worcester and the west side...
I don't think I'll be around on Sat.
Sunday I'm heading to the races. I've never been and Half-Squid always has good routes.
Tater- The bike ran a healthy 159.3 on the dyno at bike night. I've very happy since it only has a slip-on. Must have been built on a Wednesday.
Have fun guys. That western-most part of rt 2 is sweet.
159.3 nice... real nice...Originally posted by vaa

Well, you called the time so let's say kickstands up Sunday at 9:00am. It looks like there's a Hess and Exxon station on 122A/122 right off 290. According to my map it's the Hess that's on the westbound side so that's probably easiest.Originally posted by shannon9339

If we keep a good pace we should have no problem getting back close to 3:00 like you want. It's 250 miles though so your (_!_) may be a tad tired forlater. Maybe you should just keep riding with us?

those gas stations are both in Kelly Square, the exxon is better to meet at. If you haven't been through kelly square in worcester before, take this as your warning. There are about 9 roads intersectiong in one cluster f**k and only 2 have stop signs. It is an amazing trafic thing. If you are coming down 190, a better place to meet would be at the greendale mall, I know where to pick up 122 just down the road. Let me know.
I did mention 9ish, right? Remember Sunday morning is the morning after saturday night? I will give it my best shot![]()

PARTY HARD: and ride harder...
I really don't care where we meet. Just give me an address and I'll be there. We'll be heading up Rt.122 so anywhere near that route is fine.Originally posted by shannon9339

As for 9ish, that was to get us back by 3ish. We can leave later but we'd have to trade twisties for slab. I've got all day so it's up to everyone else.
for future reference... Rt. 116 from S.Deerfield -> Ashford is tasty. Rt. 112 can get you up to Rt. 2. they've been moving the temp traffic lights around the past few weeks, not sure whats up at the moment. theyve been doing work for a while but its never stopped me from including it in a west ride.
Rt. 20 is fun from around Otis to Huntington where you can grab Rt.112.
both these spots are sweet, but the PoPo has been hangin' out in force the last two rides I made out that way. lame. still can be fun even around the speed limit. sorta.
