I am going to support DBConz on this. And thanks for sticking your neck out and saying it. This can be a very anti street rider board. No offense track guys but you do clearly dominate the message board and it is neSTREETriders. I don't ride track because the financial investment is way too much. I have a family to support and they come first. I do love to ride and have found a great number of good people to ride with on this site. I can honestly say I have never experienced a bad NESR ride. Yes there are alot of irresponsible riders out there and slot of the clubs arenore into looking cool than rider safety, that's just the way it is. I think NESR is a big step above that and I am think we are all very lucky for the resource.

When your definition of 'street riding' is cruising along with one hand on your hip to and from posing, you're god damn right you'll get flamed.

I was kidding about the vests thing, but The Kid is right. I know not everyone that wears vests is a squid... but you wouldn't be able to see the vests if they were wearing jackets, so yes, when someone shows up with a chromed out, extended swing arm and a skull bucket on, I probably am going to have not very nice things to say about them.

where I personally may not like the work someone has done into making a bike their own, i will respect the work they have done making it their own. to me, that's what being a bike person is all about. others feel that being a bike person is doing circles on a track.

If people feel that opinionated, then they should call the Ferrari owners on Newbury Street pussies for only taking their sport cars out for a cruise around the city & not around the track driving it "the way it was made to be driven".

a little off topic here, but these riders get shitted on too much.

Re: Lawtown Ryderz Spring Opener April 4th

Ok I agree and disagree with most of you. I myself have a newer bike scratched and battled scared as I like to ride not shine, I would rather be tearing up the corner then in the driveway waxing. I don't do chrome as I am most likely going to scratch it and thus a waste of money.

I think anyone can be a squid vest or no vest.

At least in the club I am in we have some rules on stuff like that, an unfortunately I can not say that about some others. Yes some clubs start because a bunch of squids want to be cool. We make people have at least a year riding experience before joining and no law breaking while riding in vests. Our chapter happens to be respected by the local police department due to this and the local charity things we do. I like being able to get together with fellow riders and shoot the shit and help out a good cause at the same time. I don't do it to look cool or be tough, I do it because this particular group I liked there values and standards and happen to have a friend in it.

As for the track yeah, money woahs keep me from going there. And yes I happen to like to stunt, but I mostly keep it to private lots where we can't endanger anyone else and are within the law to do so. I do not care for the guy flying down the highway on 1 wheel that could end up under my tire. And I almost always have my full face on as well I ride hard and have gone done before and it keeps my head shinny and thats one thing I like shiny.

And vest or no vest if some guy is riding like an idiot I will try to coach him or not ride with him again, simple as that. Ohh and just to iterate one of our laws, we get fined if we lift the front tire off the ground while wearing the vests. And we all know we have done that at least once. Well 98% of us

Ok way to much typing and thinking, appreciate your honestly and my theory is, love to ride, live to ride and who cares how you do it as long as you do it and do it safe!

Glad to see NESR is practicing tolerance

I came into this thread early this morning & thought to myself "Well, they're kinda busting on this kid, but at least he's taking it lightly and no one's crossing any lines"....... guess I thought too soon.

People, cut the shit. If you know him personally & he knows you're just busting his balls, fine... Me, I don't know him personally, so I kept my mouth shut. Let the kid do and wear what he wants, he's not hurting anyone.

Re: Lawtown Ryderz Spring Opener April 4th

Hey don't get me wrong I have ridden with a few people from here in the past and think the ones I road with are good riders and would ride again if asked. I don't wear the vest when I ride unless it is a club event like a charity run or something. 90% of the time I am a street rider riding by myself or with friends. I ride to ride, not to look good or be cool. I also ride with the vest crew because all my other friends where here and there for rides only doing local runs and stuff like that. I got a bike to ride and ride places I don't often go. The crew plans rides at least once a month and does alot of riding so I liked to be able to have people to go with that actually ride and not just sit at a local lot and shoot the shit and bike lean. If thats what the club was about I would not be part of it. No show and shine here.

It really was a joke dude. Ride your ride, whatever way you want to ride it. There are just some people that will inherently not see eye to eye about things. That's part of what makes NESR interesting and fun, but apparently our opinions are being moderated now, so I'm going to go type something warm and fuzzy so as not to be NESR-spanked.

Re: Lawtown Ryderz Spring Opener April 4th

I joined here to find local rides since most people in my area don't like doing real long rides. Apparently having a sport bike to them means local street riding. I myself like the open roads and willing to ride with anyone with a good attitude and willing to let me tag along. I don't really take offense to anyone saying anything, I think its childish, just wanted a reason behind it. Thought maybe it might be something that could be validated.

Funny I am typing this shit and watching a watching a special on Nation Geographic Channel about the Outlaw bikers and Warlord Bikers. The 1% guys that I myself would not want to run into.

I'm just not sure about the people who cannot decide what they want to be. Take for example someone who on the one hand has a steering damper and gets his suspension rebuilt and puts rearsets on the bike to help with lean angles and body positioning, then on the other hand has chrome wheels and a yellow mirrored windshield.

Just for example. i don't know anyone like that.

If I did I would probably tolerate them.

BTW, like the poster, but is the bike on it's sidestand? Maybe the rider has cruise control but I'm pretty sure he's not gonna go very fast or far with his hand off the throttle.

Just kidding with you. Hope your spring opener went well. see you on the roads (roadz??).

Remember the days of yore when people bitched and cried cus NESR was a mean, intolerant place & poked fun of others? I'm not moderating anything so please don't pull the friggin "mod" card, that drives me up the wall, I'm just pointing out how certain people here are being total hypocrites. We cry out for tolernce for our own personal diversities, then chastise those that are different from us. It's ''New England Streetriders'' not ''New England One Way Streetriders''

I wish I could go back in time after I read the responses in these types of threads...the guy posted an event, which didn't say anything about being extreme, drinking, raping fest....why assume they are a bunch of douchebag drunks who are all gonna crash and kill your family, why because its not a race flyer or something "you" personally think is cool?

Re: Lawtown Ryderz Spring Opener April 4th

wow, good to see we are starting off this season where we left off last..... I don't do track days b/c they aren't the most important thing for me to spend my money on.... I like going to the track to watch once or twice a year, that being said, in my short time here this site has become more and more track oriented as more members get involved w/ track days and racing. BUT it's not just that more people are into riding the track, it's that the formation of BostonMoto has increased the amount of track specific talk on here.... and the fact that a lot of track riders have hardly ridden since the last track or race day & they have been sitting on their thumbs waiting for it to start up again... so OBVIOUSLY they are friggin all wound up about going back to the track... Im hoping the crap going on now fades as it warms back up and more people get out... damn winters are too long
