In all seriousness. Is the shifter linkage loose? Got alot of slop in the mechanism? That sometimes won't allow it to shift properly. Tighten up if so.

Only thing I can think off.. it is cold. Is the engine fully up to temp? Oil could be all sluggish.

it lives in an attached garage until november usually, never gets too cold in there. pulled it out into the driveway and fired it up letting the temp get up to about 150 or so before leaving. getting into first gear felt a lil strange and then when going to shift into second i noticed that the shifter seemed to be on an unusually low angle as if it had been pushed down too far and when i did kick the shift lever up it went into 2nd fine, but then when shifting into third i kicked the lever up and it just would not shift. pulled over and played with it for a second and determined that yes the shifter is staying down when going into first and feels very soft almost spongey
