    App Gap this weekend

Don't bother. That stupid bicycle race is tomorrow, the 4th. Then the Gap will be closed on the 5th. Not sure why-maybe to scrape up all the cyclist carnage?

That's not right !!! Why don't they shut it down and just let motorcycles have at it for a day?

    Re: App Gap this weekend

Having done the race many times (I used to do that for work...) it's a bitch of a climb, but one that we all looked forward to. I will say this: most (not all, but most) cyclists appreciate the roads they get to race on when they are fully closed (or have a rolling enclosure). It takes much work by the local law enforcement, DOT and MANY volunteers to run a race like that. Regardless, many times cyclists (like all elite athletes) can be total queens...don't be too harsh to judge, I know a bunch of guys racing tomorrow that ride off road on MX for cross training in the fall. These guys (like me) love anything with two wheels.

Have a great Labor Day all...

...I'm off to work on printing out my LAPs day paperwork and mailing a check for a track day on the 28th...I feel like I'm paying the oil company for my winter's heat bill....kinda old school!

    cheers!

i dont think we would get very far trying to get a tt going on the app gap, but that would be sweet.

Ask Jake about his "collision" last weekend on 17.

125 is done. They only paved the west side. I've been running it for over a week now. The bicycles will be gone by tomorrow so I'll have to do the 125/17 loop.

I don't think we could get it done on the Bristol side, but possibly the Waitsfield side. Have Registration/Paddock Area at Mad River Glen. We would have to have like 100 pages of waivers though. Running a Hill Climb TT up either side of 17 is just asking for something bad to happen.

Now T Rd...I have heard some rumors...

    Re: App Gap this weekend

Even in the towns where tourism drives the economy I can't see getting a permit for a traditional road race. However, a zero emissions race might fit in with the image that Vermont is trying to project.

The one good thing about having the bike races on the gaps is they sweep the roads. I was on 125 Friday when they came through with a rotary broom trailer.
