Are you saying that the skull cap helmets are not legal, even if DOT? I don't follow.

There are two types of beanie helmets. The real "DOT" helmets and the "for show" plastic shells with fake DOT sticker.Quote:

So... Can anyone help my grab Mark's bike from Spillanes? Someone must have a truck?
For folks who didn't read the link above, or the other thread, it appears MarkBVT was hit by an SUV on North Ave last week, and is in the hospital recovering and for surgery on multiple femur fractures.
I just learned this info as I sit typing this and haven't been in to see him yet. Anyone know how we can help him best? Replacing his helmet would be great, but perhaps there are more pressing needs? Anyone know if he needs help contacting the sellers with his bid on the prospective house? Feeding his snakes? Paying his medical bills?
Sounds like his bike has been picked up.
Thanks for all the help, guys. Honestly, the most pressing need for me personally right now is company. I'm bored out of my skull.

I'm sure. I want to stop by again very soon. What should I bring you? :D
Not sure I can make it tomorrow, it depends on how much my knee hurts. If I do show up it'll be on 4 wheels though, and I really hate going to BN in a car :(
Sadly i will be there on 4 wheels tomorrow. :blue:
On a more positive not though, we will be having a 50/50 raffle tomorrow! :woot:
Try your luck and all benifits will go straight to mark so that he can afford something nice for himself
I hope to see you all there!
I was going to go, but weather is shit. And then when i get home, clear skys. FU Mother nature...
Thanks to the generosity of our BBN crew, a grand total of $172 was raised via the 50:50 raffle. $86 went to the "helmet fund" and Huffer, winner of the other $86, gave Mark his winnings!
Separately, another $80 in donations were generously received this evening.
If you add this all up and combine it with the PayPal donations, we have raised $672 dollars for Mark! We should be able to pick Mark up a new helmet (at cost) and have enough left over to take care of some insurance co-pays.
:twothumb:
Well done guys.
You guys have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you all, so much. Really.

We definitely need to get a couple of Official Bike Night photographers to get some cool pics up on Da Web. There was a good turnout this week & great support for Mark from everyone at Tuesday Bike Night... Huge Shout out to Huffer for being a role model.
I'm sure I can convince my wife to come on Tuesday and take some more pics. She shot some of the ones we are using on our FB page.
I'll be there on Tuesday riding the "new to me" - Duke!!
THAT THING LOOKS RIDICULOUSLY FUN!!!
Nice purchase.
Wow, bad ass bike. Do want!
Thanks!
Marchesini wheels
Brembo brakes
WP suspension (front and rear)
Slipper clutch
3 fuel map settings
That's all stock!!
Bike is showroom condition with 3K miles (2008).
Picking it up this weekend - guy is from RI - meeting me at the track.
Was sad to see the 1000RR go... but since I'm still racing the 600RR - wanted to try something different on the street.
Awesome, Tyler. That bike's going to be fun as hell.

Weather looks great... who's in??
I will be there on 4 wheels, and then visiting Mark afterward. I will not be staying long, though, as most chairs are not comfortable to sit in at the moment with my bum leg.
Foster and I will be there! On two wheels!!!! Tyler can't wait to see that Duke!
Sorry to hear about the leg. Heal fast.
I will be missing bike night as well. :( My wife & I will be driving our eldest daughter to Albany to catch the train to Ohio. She is a college senior this year... yikes!!! No matter how slow I ride, time still flies. (yes, I do know about Relativity) ;)
