Any bike nighters who want to drink some awesome German beer and eat some amazing German food should swing by this evening! We're still doing 'soft' openings and seating dinner reservations only, but das upstairs bar is open!!

I also want to talk to the proprietor about perhaps hosting a more 'official' bike night gettogether soon.

Jeff, I'm not much of a beer drinker either, but a good German hefeweizen (aka weissbier) is the exception. I could drink that stuff all night long. Give it a try. As it happens, Das Bierhaus has my favorite one, Erdinger, on tap.

I was out last night (UVM Med hockey team celebration) and heard they were doing a soft opening. Someone noted that a med student's boyfriend owns/started the place. Look forward to frequenting it. Are you working there? Do they serve in das boot?

Yep, we're still doing 'soft' openings, basically facebook fan and email list invites to get everything 100% functional until the grand opening (in a few weeks, hopefully). What year are you in med school? One of the managers, Tucker, is dating sarah... something, a first year.

I'll be at the door if you want to come down! And we do have stiefel, but I'm not sure if we serve in them yet...

Makes me wish I lived up there still. Do they by chance have Ayinger bier? A litre of Ayinger Dunkel (mostly on an empty stomach) had me stumbling down the streets of Munchen, it was great.

Its def. a good spot, and will be even better this summer when they open the "Beer Deck"! Nothing like a Sat of tearing up VT Twisties, and ending with a .5L of delicious tasty brew over-looking B-Town!
