you missed the second "D" in ADD, must have been you got distracted.......:teehee:
also, go raw finish. chemical strip so you dont roughen the surface, then clearcoat.

Small update on page 1 (tires mounted, frame cleaning).
:plusone:
I prefer powder coating but yeah, on a budget I would agree with Mark.
I am guessing Mark offered use of tools, if not I have a welder (mig, arc or gas....take your pick not sure what you're used to... I'd recommend the mig), sandblaster and spray guns you are welcome to use.
I prefer a powdercoat as well but the price is too high for this bike. I don't want to take a bath when it comes time to sell someday.
Anyhow, thanks for the very generous mig offer! I love to mig! However, now I think I'm going to try to bend some aluminum instead. I'd like to try my hand at that and all I really need is a tray for the battery.
I'm picking up a used sandblast tomorrow but might be interested in borrowing your spray gun when the time comes! (Although I'm looking to buy one of those as well... I'm guessing those come in handy).
Anyhow, thanks for the offers... you may be hearing from me!
Update on page 1... frame and swingarm sandblasted.

AWESOME, I'll be watching this one.
Looks awesome! it's gonna be ridin' high with that shock in there, what's your plan for the front suspension?
custom TW's rock! great project, subscribed!
:hellyeah:
very cool. looking for a TW right now actually...
Great Work Looks good...
Great project!! How come those TWs come with such huge knobbies? Makes the bike look super fun for some reason, like its just made for fooling around with on the beach.
I'm not sure. A lot of guys actually put 4 wheeler tires on them:

And of course, nothing seems all that big when you consider what Yamaha put as stock tires on the BW 200:

Sorry for the holdup on my project. I'm waiting for my electrician to upgrade a 220 V line in my garage so I can start powdercoating.
Someone was asking about the TW at VTBN yesterday so I thought I'd update the original post with the recent progress.
:beerbang: Looks awesome, great progress!
Bump!
Where you at Catamount?
Anything new in the news with the T-Dub?

If I hadn't just bought another bike I would be all over this!
WOW, I only wish I was:
A) Home in Vermont
B) had a trailer to drive south
C) had enough time to ride a second or even third bike!!
Hey cata, doc, et al! New Mexico is hot and sunny. But not as bad as Tucson...I bet the Freak is wilting down there. May be home in july, and I'll see you the first Tuesday I'm back. Got some new, fun parts for the little lady.
Cheers!
Nice work!
I was at the Harley dealership today looking at trading my S3 in for a Road King and.... just kidding. But I was at Harley in Essex today with my Dad who was just looking around. There was a 2008 TW 200 at the door that had just come in on trade. They were asking $3500.
I get a kick out of picturing a big biker 'dude' rolling in on a TW 200 and rolling out on a Harley.
I'm REALLY glad that thing is so far south. I was seriously considering calling the guy up and offering $600 until I google mapped Bellows Falls.
Such fun bikes... I really need to get mine going!
Sandros, not sure how you are dealing with that heat. It's up near 90 here today and I feel like I'm burning up.
Very nice work, can't wait for the finished pics. I love custom work, you're free to do what ever you want. You gonna keep it street legal?
