Islands/Adirondacks Fall Foliage Ride, Sat 10/10

Hey kids. Got another ride planned with my Triumph RAT pack this Saturday, Oct 10, and as always everyone here is welcome to come along.

Meet at 9:30am in the Costco parking lot in Colchester. We'll take Rt 2 through the Champlain Islands, cross over the bridge at Rouse's Point, then ride down through the Adirondacks to the Chimney Point bridge, with a lunch stop in Plattsburgh.

Yes, we'll ride T Rd. Probably one or two other goodies too.

I'd like to jump in somewhere between Plattsburgh and Elizabethtown if you plan on going over Lincoln Pond. Jake when are you joining in?

Not sure of the exact route yet -- depends in part on who shows up for the ride. But we'll definitely be taking Rt 9 south from Plattsburgh to Keeseville.

Plan is to have lunch at Geoffrey's Pub in Plattsburgh (intersection of Rt 9 and Broad St). We should get there around noon or so. Maybe meet us there?

Wasn't planning on Lincoln Pond Rd though. Planning to hit up H Rd and T Rd.

Pace also depends on who shows up. But given the number of cops in upstate NY, it's not going to be crazy fast in any case. I for one can't afford to get another ticket.

For the most part I expect the pace to be moderate, without attracting attention, and spirited when we get to twisties. Less experienced/slower riders will be encouraged to ride at whatever pace they feel comfortable, and we'll pull over and wait for them before turning off anywhere.

But this IS a scenic ride, so it's probably not the right one for riders who can only have fun when they're doing triple digits.

Must have been a rough morning! But what a great afternoon...

Morning was fine -- it was a little chilly, but we didn't get rained on. Afternoon was awesome. I took it easy on T Rd though because I didn't trust cold pavement with wet spots and leaves blowing around. And H Rd was a laundry list of hazards, so we took it very easy there.
