Way last minute, I know and sorry about that....
I may have found a bike for the wife but I would need to go get it.
Not terribly far but it is in Albany, NY. I don't have a trailer :/ ...yet
Anyone have a trailer that IF I get the day off friday would be willing to help me out? I'll of course pay for gas and lunch and such.
Remember, I won't know for sure if I am going until this evening so please bear in mind this is still a feeler![]()
I'm on vacations and I have a trailer, let me know where u are , maybe we can set something......
Thanks man, I have a feeling I am a good ways away from you as I am in Burlington VTIf you are on vacation in VT.... lol
I'm working on seeing if someone has a trailer and something I can pull it with that I can borrow too as I have driven them plenty of times; nothing yet but the day is young![]()
Got a trailer with a 1 7/8" hitch that you're more than welcome to use. The catch? You would probably need a front wheel chock to keep a bike upright on it.
Yours if you want to use it though.
Edit: Oh, you don't have a tow hitch? Yikes, my trailer isn't going to be too useful without it. How about just borrowing a pickup truck instead?
I have a truck but don't have the day off. Could go saturday though.

I appreciate it Doc but it looks like friday is the only day I can make work unless things change :/
Borrowing a pickup truck would work perfect as well. The guy I am buying it from said he even has ramps and can help load it. I have tie-downs and ratchet straps so I would be good there. I even have people to help unload it.
So if anyone has or knows someone with a truck I could borrow friday please let me know. For anyone who wonders, my driving record is literally immaculate. No speeding tickets, no accidents. No points.
I DID talk to the guy, I have the money and am all set to go other than a truck.
And THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

GOT A TRUCK!!! Came with a strict 'fyi it may stall but has a new maf and hasn't since' warning, but hey, got a truck!!!
Now is the part where you tell us what you're buying! With pics!
lol, it's for the wifeWish I was getting a new bike too....soon enough I hope
So she decided she wanted a Buell Blast. She likes the naked bikes and didn't want something too big (frame wise not motor wise) for her. Not my style but that's why she picked her bike not me![]()
The bike is a red 2001 Buell Blast with a little over 6k miles on. Comes with hard bags, new rear tire and is in very good condition. The bike is freshly serviced and has been maintained. Owner is 40s + so they treated it well. I'll post up some pics Friday night
Oh, and don't tell Kristen congrads just yet. She doesn't know.
She decided on the bike and it was narrowed down to 4 of them but we keep having things fall through. So I am kinda letting her assume it fell through so I can surprise her.
If she asks I won't lie, but I figure if she doesn't figure it out I'll let her keep wondering until she gets home and it is already there![]()
good luck! got my vmax cheap in albany ('03 with 1800 miles for $4000 in october of '08).

sounds like a good find, congrats yesterdaze.
So, for those of you who kept giving me grief about 'when are you going to get Kristen a new bike?'.... well, finally got one.... She picked it out. Frankly it is an interim bike until she finds one she really wants but she is so excited about it.
She decided she wanted a Buell Blast so I looked and found a couple. One of them right outside Albany NY was a good price, in great shape and came with side bags and two different windscreens. The asking price was 1700 but he was fine with 1600 cash.
As many of you know I had picked up a bandit gsf400 that Kristen was all excited about and that I was intent on fixing. I ran into the cylinders being all gouged up and as those bikes are VERY hard to get parts for it has been sitting since in the garage. Well, in a funny twist of things thursday night as I was getting ready to go down the next day to pick up Kristen's bike I found a guy with the correct year bandit gsf400 with a good motor and frame but everything else shot or missing. He wanted 200 but the post was 2 months old and I figured it was long gone. Nonetheless I emailed him and got a reply the next morning. Bike was still available and without my asking he offered to take 80 for it and would include a brand new factory service manual for it. He also happened to be about 35 minutes away from where I had to go to pick up the other bike that was 3.5 hours away.
So long story short I emailed and asked if I could come get it that night. He didn't respond before I headed down but as he had sent me his girlfriends phone number I called and told her I was on my way and if it would work I would be there later in the evening. It all worked out; I picked up the first bike in the truck I borrowed from a coworker then headed over and we lifted the second bike in.
So, Kristen has her new running Buell Blast AND I finally have all the parts and a supposedly good motor for the Bandit GSF.
The 80$ bike looks awful! but a close look shows that while the frame is spray painted and such, it is perfectly straight and scratch and rash free and if I was told the truth about the motor it should work out beautifully.
Here are some pics for your amusement and enjoyment.
Transporting the bikes...
A little bit of a cram in a mini pickup truck....
Figured I wouldn't lean hers on the side....
Kristen's New Bike:
The parts bike.... love the custom fiberglass back....
That will get combined with the torn apart one I have...
Despite being torn apart all the little stuff on the one I had is in VERY good shape and mostly all there. What was missing is on the parts bike
Long term we will probably fix the Bandit and she will use that as a daily with the Buell getting upgraded to a bigger one.
Either way, Kristen is ecstatic.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who gave me griefhelped me figure out transportation and all that fun stuff!

$80 for a good motor and frame? You stole it! You'll probably make double that parting out the extra crap.
I literally LOL'd at the fiberglass tail. So hideous.
Yeppie! Now you know you have to ride in with her on HER BIKE to BIKE NIGHT this tuesday!![]()

The Blast looks great! I am really happy for Kristen!!! Nice job on both accounts, and good luck with the Bandit. I lol'd too at how you shoved both of em in that back on the S-10. Nice work bro!
