Looking to "Sponsor" a racer in 2010.

I am looking to let someone ride one of my Hawks in 2010.

My idea is to help someone out with their race program. There will be quite a selection process. I will be VERY picky who I chose. Obviously if you already know me and I consider you a friend you will be in the front running.

FYI: I will be in Afganistan all of 2010 and would like someone to get some use out of a bike in my absence. (to answer your question Manny)

    The fine print.
    1) You get my bike for the 2010 season
    2) You must return said bike in the same or better condition then when you got it.
    3) You will cover all other race expenses
    4) other rules to be determined.

I am looking for a Novice or Amatuer.

Post again in this thread if you are interested. Please keep the thread on topic.

Rob is interested, possibly.....depending on our financial situation next summer, of course.

Re: Looking to "Sponsor" a racer in 2010.

From the perspective of a noob, I think this is a wicked cool offer. Regardless if it goes to a friend, a teammate, or if the friends and teammates are already set on rides some new guy starting off, it’s a damn cool offer. I’m going crazy trying to get my hands on a cheap race/track ready EX to get my track days, race school, and first couple races under my belt (I’m a bit impatient). Having the chance to get on a bike like this would be phenomenal for someone like me. Hell, I’d be tickled to death to race it once, a whole season is like a freaking dream. Having a team tent to pit in and the help of some guys who know what’s up would be a major, major bonus as well (if that’s still part of the deal, it was a rule in the original thread).

I think anyone looking to really get into this race thing would be really lucky and appreciate to grab this spot.

Doc, Good on ya man. If all the friends and team members are set on rides, don’t count me out

If i can swing it i would like to hop on that Hawk and if it all goes well maybe i'll even buy it when you get back if finances allow Keira should be going back to work next year after she graduates and has the baby so we will have 2 incomes instead of just the one, but we will also have a baby...

One more thing... The reason I am doing this so early is that I will most likely be VERY busy in October and beyond. I would like to make my decision by the last race weekend of this year.

Re: Looking to "Sponsor" a racer in 2010.

    Bump!

Who still wants in. I'd really like to see a Novice use this.

    There have been some changes.

    1. I am not in Afghanistan That means you get some help in the pits from me.

    2. The bike needs some work before it is ready, I doubt it will be ready for the 1st round but I WILL bring it with me. (You can help get it ready)

    3. I would actually rather sell it but I will let someone use it to start racing.

If no one commits to the season I will "let you borrow it for a fee" at trackdays and race weekends.

    Any takers?

Send me a PM with WHY I should pick you and a "Racer Resume" (how many times you have been on the track, do you have a racer license?, What experience do you have, What weekends can you do) if you are serious.

The Bike is going to need tires, but I may have a set of Take offs after the 1st weekend.
