    MotoFab in Bristol- Awesome work!

For those of you who didn't see (or hear!) the SV at cyclewise tonight, I just had Miles from MotoFab in Bristol engineer and weld up some new exhaust pipes for me. Overall, I have to say it was a great experience! Miles really knows his stuff (especially with suzuki twins, has had MANY TLSs, Rs, SVs, and races a prepped 650) and was totally willing to work with me on getting exactly what I wanted out of the exhaust system.

We played around with a few different ideas and finally came up with something that wasn't exactly what I was envisioning, but was easier and more realistic as far as swingarm and ground clearance issues went.

The quality of the work is outstanding, the pipe welds are great and he fabbed up some hanger brackets from my old passenger footpegs and they look pretty awesome. Even when we ran into some speedbumps (who knew stock R1 pipes were Ti??), he called up his buddy who had the experience and equipment to handle the job and away we went! They didn't even mind me looking over their shoulders for the last few hours!

After the fab work was complete, Miles hooked up the bike to a yoshimura box and reflashed the ECU to compensate for the open exhaust. Sounds MEAN and the butt-dyno yields positive results!

In any case, I'm just posting a very positive experience and would definitely recommend MotoFab for pretty much anything you need- welding, powdercoating, fabrication, etc. etc.. I feel like I got high quality custom work from a very cool guy for a very fair labor rate.

And now, on to the pic-whoring!

Nice! I didn't see it at Cyclewise, but I did hear it as you rode in -- sounds great. And looks great too!

Where do the ladies put their feets?

Looks good. Pretty sure you're not going to see another exhaust like that, uhm, anywhere.

Are the mid pipes stainless or Ti ?
Does your SV have a cat-box down there? Is that what I am seeing?

If so and you want to drop more weight, maybe someday he could fab up something to eliminate it. The cat box that came off my gixxer....could use that thing for a boat anchor. Stock cans and cat box piled in a corner, M4 on, 19 pounds lighter.

Ladies usually put their feets up near my ears somewhere

The stock SV midpipes are stainless, it's just a mess of pipes down under in order to make both headers equal lenth, plus a crossover. The cats were actually built into the stock cans, which made them long and very heavy.

Yeah M4 makes a pretty cool 2-1 system for the SV too. I searched the interwebs high and low for a 2-2 aftermarket system that I truly liked, and couldn't find anything, so I went custom. And paid about half of what a set of bolt-on cans usually run.

Can't have a 2 into 1 on a twin though. Gotta have dual cans

As for the weight you saved, I was wondering if what I was seeing below was a cat or something else. Something else it is then.

So when you take the ladies for a ride, they put their feets on your shoulders? Hmm. Doesn't sound too comfy, for them. At least without a sissy bar / back rest.
