Well boys and girls. I've been working in Tucson with the AZ Air Guard since May, and I decided with the current economic situation that taking a chance on a job opportunity wouldn't be a bad idea. Turns out they like me down here, and I was selected for the position!
It was a tough decision for sure. I gotta tell ya, I drank a couple beers over this decision. Not only am I leaving my family, and close friends, but the relationships that have developed around motorcycles.
This is my 6th year riding, and the last three years I have spent riding have been amazing. From Bike Night, to Track Days, group rides, T Rd, etc. it has all be more than I ever thought riding a bike would be!
When Doc and I got together to discuss the idea of putting together a bike night in VT, the constant foundation of that idea was building a community. Moving to a new place makes you remember why you love the place your moving from, and I just wanted to offer thanks to the people who were part of me being the rider I am now.
As much as we all like to pick on Doc, he was the one who got me to NHMS for my first track day with Tony and the gang. We have had our ups and downs, but Doc, you're a great friend, an excellent rider, and a great local spokesman for motorcyclists. Thanks for opening up new opportunities for me man!
Thanks to the VTBN Crew: Mark, JC Bell, TS, Tyler Diesi, Keith, Parker, Adam, Trouble, Jason, Kristin, PK, Erika, David, Mike, Mr. Bread, Corey, Casey, Kevin, Brett, Sandy, and our Brother Down-Unda (did I miss anyone?).
Thanks to Scottie Ducati, Denno, Q, Nate, and Degsy...before Boston Moto (when they were in the Moto Addiction/Pirelli garage) for your part in introducing me to what a race weekend is all about, and for your imparted knowledge.
A special thanks to those who have had the pleasure of riding with me when I crashed! Especially my T Rd boys: Bread, Slyder, Timmy B, Kyle, JC Bell, F4IGuy, and Sandros.
Thanks to those I've met and entertained at NHMS; for the laughs, assistance, knowledge, and friendship. I can't say enough how awesome it is to head to Loudon with the expectation to not only ride, but to see good friends!
And finally a general thanks to the NESR community, ride fast and take chances, you guys have been great.
I'll still post up and lurk around, but I'll tone down a bit and such. I'll def. be around from time to time when I come home. I'll be looking forward to Bike Night for sure!
Thanks for the memories guys, I'll keep you posted on my adventures out here! Super excited to get out here with my bikes, with my stuff, settle in, and start something new!

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Congrats on the Job Bill! I am VERY happy for you, yet sad to see you go.
Thanks for the Kudos. Now I need to find someone else with the youthful enthusiasm and "humble arrogance" to replace you.
If you are not taking Brit with you I'll be sure to look after her:

Hope to be next door in "The Enchanted Circle" region soon. CCS races at Firebird too. So I would guess there are also trackdays there also.
Congrats on the job, Bill. It's a shame we'll be losing you around here, but as someone who left the area he grew up in to move someplace new, I can say from experience that it's a very healthy thing to do. It's good to expand one's horizons -- and in this economy, a job offer is obviously not something to turn down lightly.
There's tons of good riding in the Southwest (suggestion: get a dual-sport!). I know you'll enjoy yourself and bring the same enthusiasm to engaging with the motorcycle community down there.
But if/when you decide you want to move back to Vermont, we'll welcome you back home.

Congrats on the job! You'll be missed as a friend, neighbor, and riding partner in crime (both on the street and track). I've never laughed so hard or enjoyed a series of track days so much as the infamous days at NHMS last fall. Those will go down in my history books for sure. Your enthusiasm and energy will be missed for sure, but your legend will continue locally whether or not you want it to.

Nice dude! I go out that way a lot for work.
Look out for the southwest methheads... seriously, I have never seen so many folks our age begging and being junkie bums... there's nothing else to do, I guess.
I will be in Tucson 10/4-10/9 if you want to meet up... PM me dude.

Thanks for the words and well wishes! I am pumped to get the bikes out here and get into the scene, and track days are ramping up again now that the weather is cooling off.
I'll be home for the month of October, then driving out the first week of November.
For those of you who end up visiting the Phoenix/Tucson area, def. get in touch with me. You'll have a bike to ride and a place to drink and pass out!
