    Rider down in Burlington

Just got this email from a friend:

I also saw car skidmarks, so I think a car either tried to break very fast to avoid hitting him as he was going down, or tried to break not to hit him and it did anyway. Recording news on 2 channels at 11, maybe they will have something about it.
Anyone know anything about this? Hopefully the rider's okay...

A guy I work with passed this wreck on the drive in, he said the rider was laying about 40 meters from the bike. He was on a stretcher with paramedics working on him, but I didn't hear any further information. Hope the guy's ok!

    Re: Rider down in Burlington

Some bad news I'm afraid... it seems we know the fellow who went down.

I was talking to a friend who is an officer with Burlington PD. He was telling me that he responded to a motorcycle accident a few days ago and the driver of the motorcycle had one arm.

I hate to say that I think it might be our Bike Night friend who stopped by many Bike Night's last year with the modified controls on the left side of his GSX-R.

His description seemed to fit. I think Mark will know his name. The good news is that the officer said he is going to be okay. That's all I know.

Only has a left arm? That sounds like Adam. . . . I thought he had an SV650?

Yeah, I think he also has an SV650. Do you know if it's black?

I don't recall. He's the only one armed rider I know though.

I thought his SV was a blue first gen, but I'm not sure what his other bike was since I only ever saw the SV.

the bike that he rode at the end of last season was blue, don't remember the make and model, but i know he had said that he had customized 5 bikes and still had all of them. If anyone finds out anything please post it. (not that any of you would withhold any info). Hope he is alright!

Yup, last season Adam had an older GSX-R slabby, but he upgraded to a blue 2nd gen SV650 later in the summer. Hope it was a different one-armed guy!

    Re: Rider down in Burlington

Regardless of whether it was Adam or not (don't know of any other one-armed riders, but the only bikes I've seen him on are the old GSX-R and the SV, neither of which are black), I'm glad to hear that the rider's going to be okay.

Adam? Crap... glad he is going to be alright. That sucks, known him since college, wicked nice guy. If anyone finds out anything more post an update. I didn't keep in touch other then seeing him here and there but I'll touch with some mutual friends and see if they know anything.
